Gideon and 300 exhausted men cross the Jordan chasing 15,000. They ask Succoth for bread and get mocked. Penuel does the same. Two towns of unique covenantal privilege side with the enemy against the Lord's anointed deliverer. Reading Psalm 83 as inspired commentary, this episode exposes nationhood as God's post-Babel design — and asks what to do when the men in the pew and the men in the pulpit cheer on the destroyers of the nation.

You've done the hard thing. The Lord has blessed it. And the men who turn up looking for a row aren't your enemies — they're your brothers. Ephraim sat out seven years of plunder, then ambushed Gideon at the peak of victory. Gideon answers softly, magnifies their gleaning above his vintage, and the wrath goes out of them in three sentences. A covenant if-then you can use in your marriage, workplace, or church this week.

The Lord sends him down to overhear an enemy dream — a barley loaf tumbling into a tent — and Gideon weaponises their fear against them.
You look around and despair. The hordes who hate your country. The influencers buckling under pressure. Pastors going soft. The whole nation drifting. What can one man do? In Judges 7, the Lord strips Gideon's army from 32,000 down to 300, deliberately, because He will not share His glory with men. He uses the few, the dogged, the faithful, the ones with no platform. And He gives us one action today that is the modern equivalent of Gideon's trumpet, one promise that guarantees the Lord will heal your land. It is so simple you might miss it. But it is the foundation of every nation-changing move God has ever made.

Gideon obeyed the explicit command of God — he tore down the altar of Baal, chopped down the Asherah pole, and offered a burnt sacrifice to the Lord. By morning, the entire city wanted him dead. Not the Midianites. Not the pagans. The covenant community. The people of God were more zealous for a false god than for the true one, and they came as one body to the door of his father's house demanding blood — a scene that echoes Sodom in Genesis 19. In this episode, we unpack what idolatry does to a people, why every religion produces a law code and enforcers to match, and how God turned the most unlikely man — the custodian of the Baal cult himself — into the shield that protected His servant. And then we watch what happens next: the Spirit falls, the trumpet sounds, and entire tribes rally behind one man who had the courage to act. Because in an age of cowardice, courage is the rarest commodity — and when it appears, everything changes.

In Judges 6:25–27, God gives Gideon his first mission, and it is not what anyone expected. Instead of marching against the Midianites, God sends him to tear down the altar of Baal in his own father's house. Nathan unpacks why God always starts reformation at home, dealing with the root before the fruit. He explores the striking parallels between Baal imagery and modern entertainment, the difference between foolish recklessness and wise courage, and why it is always the generation with nothing left to lose that God raises up to tear down the altars. Before you tear down, build.

Gideon asks for a sign — and unlike the Pharisees, he is right to do so. In this episode, we examine Judges 6:17–24 and explore the difference between faithless sign-seeking and the biblical duty to test the spirits. We trace the extraordinary cost of Gideon's offering — a young goat and an ephah of flour in the middle of a famine — and what it tells us about the real price of entering God's service. We follow the fire from the rock through Leviticus, First Kings, and First Chronicles, and we see how God's consuming fire marks every major turning point in redemptive history. And we watch Gideon build an altar called Jehovah-Shalom — not because the conflict was over, but because it was about to begin. Tested faith is not a warm feeling. It is a rock-solid conviction, established through obedience, sacrifice, and the confirming fire of God.

Gideon has just received a direct commission from God — "Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel" — and his immediate response is an excuse: my clan is the weakest, I am the least. This episode unpacks why that response, which sounds humble, is actually a rejection of God's sovereign selection. Drawing on David, Amos, Joseph, Cromwell, and the Boers, Nathan traces God's consistent pattern of choosing working men over credentialed men, and argues that faithful labour — not pedigree, location, or platform — is what qualifies a man for calling. The episode then turns to God's answer in verse sixteen: "Surely I will be with thee." Nathan challenges the mystical, feelings-based understanding of God's presence that dominates modern churches, recovering the biblical concept of dynamis — explosive, mission-directed power — as seen in Samson, Pentecost, and the Magnificat. The episode closes with a sober reminder that defeating the primary enemy does not eliminate every secondary problem: reformation is generational, and men must calibrate their expectations accordingly.

When Israel cried out to God in their misery, He didn't send a deliverer — He sent a prophet. Before the solution came the diagnosis: His Word. In this episode, Nathan unpacks Judges 6:7–10 and asks the question that cuts to the bone — who are the false gods of our age? From the state as Baal to gender ideology as Asherah worship, the idols have changed their faces but not their nature. And for the Christian who divides life into sacred and secular, the prophet's rebuke lands just as hard: ye have not obeyed my voice. The first commandment is total, or it is nothing.

Why is your generation struggling in ways your parents never did — crushed by taxation, priced out of housing, watching your nation's agriculture and infrastructure being dismantled? In Judges 6, the children of Israel faced the same thing: enemies swarming their land, devouring their produce, driving them into caves. But the Bible is clear that Midian wasn't the ultimate cause — God was. He delivered Israel into their enemies' hands because the nation had done evil. Today we trace the parallels between Gideon's generation and ours, from the war on farming to the explosion of unproductive bureaucracy, and confront the uncomfortable truth that blaming the visible enemies — whoever your Midianites happen to be — gets you nowhere. The turning point comes when Israel stops crying on the internet (as it were) and starts crying out to the Lord. That's where the solution lies: not in finger-pointing, but in national repentance and a bigger vision of who Jesus actually is — not just a personal Saviour, but the rightful Lord and owner of your nation.

In this episode of God’s World, God’s Way, Nathan F. Conkey delivers a strategic briefing for young men navigating the disorientation of the modern age. Drawing from 2 Corinthians 10:3-6, Conkey argues that we are currently engaged in 5th Generation Warfare—a conflict where the primary battlefield is not physical territory, but the "grey matter between your ears."

The episode breaks down how narratives, identities, and social cohesion are being weaponized by "social scientists, AI bots, and intelligence agencies" to keep men passive and divided. Conkey challenges listeners to reject "carnal weapons"—including vitriol, conspiracy obsession, and the trap of racialism—in favor of biblical metanoia (a total revolution of the mind). From pulling down the strongholds of dualism to mastering the "heavy ordnance" of God’s Law, this is a call to move from being a disinterested spectator to a disciplined soldier in the army of the New Adam.

Are you tempted to think the Church is losing, that the nations are defying God without consequence, and that the best we can do is manage decline? Micah 4:1-4 gives us a stunning corrective. In this episode, we work through one of the most hope-filled passages in the Old Testament — a prophetic vision of God's kingdom growing from a mustard seed into a mountain that fills the entire earth, not just in eternity, but in history.

We explore what the "latter days" actually means, why the nations come to Zion as nations rather than as isolated individuals, and what it is that draws them there — not vague spiritual feeling, but the law of God going forth faithfully, generation after generation. We look at why the Great Commission is inseparable from the teaching of God's law, why peace between nations is impossible without it, and what the picture of every man sitting under his own vine and fig tree really promises — and doesn't promise.

This episode is a call to faith. Not the thin faith that says "I'll go to heaven when I die," but the robust, world-changing faith that takes God at His word when He says wars will end, security will come, and the nations will bow — because the mouth of the Lord of hosts has spoken it.

Is it sinful for a Christian man to desire greatness? Is ambition always pride? In this episode of God’s World, God’s Way, Nathan F. Conkey explores Jesus’ surprising answer in Mark 10, where James and John openly desire preeminence in the Kingdom.

Christ does not rebuke their longing to be great — instead, He redirects it. The world’s path to greatness is domination, self-exaltation, and control. But the Kingdom path is the exact opposite: true greatness comes through service.

Jesus teaches that the man who would be “great” must become a servant (diakonos), and the man who would be “first” must become a bond-servant (doulos) — bound in focused, humble devotion to serving his people in his God-given calling.

This message is a call to Christian men to reject false, passive spirituality and embrace godly ambition through faithful labour, humility, excellence, and service — walking the path Christ Himself walked.

The door to greatness is open. The way is clear. Serve, and be great in God’s world, God’s way.

Christian man, if your faith feels real but your life feels like it's going nowhere — your work hollow, your ambitions guilty, your days just treading water waiting for heaven — this episode is for you.

The problem isn't your salvation. The problem is that someone separated your faith from your work, and taught you that the Bible is only about spiritual things — prayer, church, and getting your soul to heaven. That lie has a name. It's an ancient heresy. And it has been keeping Christian men passive, poor, and stuck for centuries.

In this episode, Nathan takes you back to the very first page of Scripture — Genesis 1:26 — and shows you the dominion mandate: God's first command to mankind, given before sin, before the fall, before redemption language even appears. He traces it through Psalm 8, Proverbs, the life of Christ, and the Great Commission, showing that godliness is dominion — and that your work, your trade, your craft, and your fatherhood are the primary arenas where your faith is meant to be applied.

If you've ever felt that your job is a distraction from the real business of being a Christian, this episode will turn your world the right way up.

It isn’t just “losing focus.”

Biblically, distraction is being pulled out of the way—away from Christ, away from truth, away from life.

In this episode of God’s World, God’s Way, we expose distraction for what it really is, trace it through Scripture, and show why shortcuts, algorithms, even well-meaning people can derail a God-given calling. Most importantly, we lay out the biblical framework for real transformation, not just marginal improvement.

There is hope. There is a way back. And it begins with the renewing of the mind.

Why are so many faithful Christians struggling—when Scripture promises that God prospers the righteous?

Because there is a war against Christian prosperity, and it is fought quietly, relentlessly, and primarily in the mind.

From media and schools to taxation systems and cultural storytelling, believers are conditioned to associate wealth with evil and poverty with virtue. Even worse, distorted teaching within the church has persuaded many Christians that material success is spiritually dangerous.

But Scripture tells a very different story.

Biblical prosperity begins in the inner man (the Levav) and flows outward into action, stewardship, productivity, and success. When the mind is renewed by the Word of God, the Christian is transformed—like a caterpillar into a butterfly—and begins to surge forward in their God-given calling.

This episode exposes the enemies of godly prosperity, dismantles false narratives, and shows how real, abiding success comes God’s way.

Many Christian men today quietly feel the weight of needing greater provision—enough to win a wife, buy a home, and raise a family in a hostile age. Proverbs 14:23 confronts this need head-on: “In all labour there is profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.” The message is simple but world-altering: your ability to be a wise man produces your ability to do real work, and that work—especially the painful kind—produces the profit necessary for Christian manhood. Wisdom is not religious performance or articulate theology; it is a soft, obedient heart built on the fear of the Lord, His law, and His covenant sanctions. Where the inner man is wise, work becomes fruitful. Where he is foolish, life collapses into talk, excuses, and lack.

This proverb diagnoses why so many modern men remain stuck: too much consumption, analysis, discussion, and “mere talk,” and not enough labour—especially the kind that presses through the pain built into our post-Fall world. Scripture reveals that this pain is not a sign to quit; it is a God-designed signal that profit lies ahead. Every man—whether shepherd like Abraham or junk-yard owner like the richest man you ever met—can prosper in the calling God fitted him for, if he rejects cultural lies about wealth and embraces God’s pattern: be transformed, do the labour, and have the profit. Work done in obedience, even when it hurts, becomes the very means by which God restores dominion, provides for families, and shapes men into who they must be to fulfil their calling.

Young men today are facing pressures far worse than anything their fathers or grandfathers experienced. Marriage rates are collapsing, home ownership is out of reach, and an entire generation is drifting toward an empty, wasted life—far from the meaning God intended through work, wife, and family. This “war on men” is real, but God has not left His sons without hope. Scripture reveals a powerful, often-ignored open secret that transformed Isaac in famine, Jacob in poverty, Daniel in exile, Job in devastation, and Joseph in prison. The same God who lifted them above their circumstances can lift you above yours.

In this episode, I uncover the simple—but not easy—biblical pattern that unleashes God’s blessing in real time and real history. Not the cheap promises of modern self-help, but the covenant path God Himself guarantees: “If you obey… then I will bless.” When men return to God’s ways, His hand reaches down from heaven to transform their work, multiply their efforts, and exalt them in ways no economy, background, or obstacle can prevent. I’m Nathan F. Conkey with God’s World, God’s Way, helping God’s men rediscover God’s law, God’s order, and God’s blessing. Brother—if you’re ready for real change—this message is for you.

Jacob - From Zero to Abundance

https://cr101radio.com/podcast/jacob-from-zero-to-abundance

The message “From Zero to Abundance” explores Jacob’s journey from loss to prosperity as a model for believers facing hardship. It begins with Jacob’s abrupt fall from privilege—forced to flee from his wealthy home with nothing but a staff in his hand—and connects this to modern struggles such as financial insecurity, fractured family relationships, and the growing difficulty of building a stable life in today’s world. Like Jacob, many men today feel stripped of opportunity and inheritance, yet God’s Word offers timeless guidance. The lesson is that even when earthly fathers fail, God the Father’s love is steadfast and His provision sure. The believer’s path from emptiness to blessing begins with recognising God’s faithful love and applying His principles to daily work and calling.

The teaching then unpacks how Jacob’s example reveals the biblical “formula” for abundance: diligent labor, skill mastery, integrity, and obedience to God’s law. Jacob learned his trade, worked tirelessly under unjust conditions, maintained an impeccable reputation, and turned obstacles into opportunities through wisdom and persistence. His story culminates in massive increase—not by luck or manipulation, but by consistent faithfulness and divine favour. Christians are likewise called to “work their land,” develop excellence, lead others, and build lasting wealth that blesses future generations. Through Jacob’s life, we see that abundance is not achieved through worldly shortcuts but through godly work, righteous leadership, and unwavering trust in God’s covenant provision.

https://cr101radio.com/podcast/jacobs-remedy-for-bitterness-towards-your-father

Jacob endured one of the greatest personal injustices a man can face—his father, who walked closely with God, showed no love or favor toward him. Though Jacob was upright, dutiful, and the chosen heir of God’s covenant, Isaac consistently preferred Esau, the ungodly brother who despised his birthright. For seventy-one years Jacob labored faithfully in his father’s household, receiving neither affection nor tangible provision. When the time came for him to secure a bride, unlike Isaac who was richly supplied, Jacob was sent away with nothing but a staff in his hand. Isaac withheld not only his love but also the material support a father owed his son. And yet, despite a lifetime of neglect, Jacob never allowed bitterness to rule his heart.

Jacob’s remedy was faith. He believed the promises of God more than the failings of men. He anchored himself in God’s covenant, walking in obedience and trusting that the inheritance would come in God’s timing—not Isaac’s. He honored his father even to the end, refusing to rail against the man who caused him such pain. This story isn’t just about Jacob’s suffering but about his triumph through faith and steadfastness. It’s a call to all who face their own “Isaacs”—unjust authorities, unloving fathers, or spiritual leaders who withhold what matters—to lay hold of God’s promises, reject bitterness, and keep walking faithfully. In the end, God’s blessing overtakes the one who trusts and obeys.

This episode challenges the way modern Christians view wealth and power, exposing how pagan philosophical influences have blinded many believers to the full picture of God’s blessings in Scripture. While Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Job were powerful and immensely wealthy men, most Christians have been conditioned to see them only through the lens of weakness, poverty, or abstract “spiritual” qualities. Nathan traces this distortion back to ancient dualistic ideas that despise matter and elevate “spirit,” showing how these pagan categories have crept into the church and shaped how believers read the Bible — often skipping over the very words of the Holy Spirit.

Nathan argues that this blindness is not accidental but the result of a strategic deception. The early church inherited temples, priests, and a false view of Scripture that kept ordinary people — especially those involved in business, leadership, and wealth — at arm’s length from the plain meaning of the Word. By recovering the biblical vision of creation, incarnation, law, and covenant, Christians can once again see that wealth and power, rightly used, are not evil but instruments of godly dominion and blessing. The call is clear: take off the blindfold and read Scripture for what it truly says.

This episode powerfully reframes how we imagine the patriarchs Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—not as small, wandering desert nomads, but as towering figures of immense wealth, power, and influence. Scripture paints Abraham as a “mighty prince” with vast herds, treasure, skilled workers, and a household numbering in the thousands, complete with a private army of 318 trained men. He stood before kings as an equal, negotiated treaties, managed a thriving economy, and led an entire community that functioned like a small moving city. Isaac, too, was so blessed and prosperous that the king of the Philistines declared him “much mightier than we.” Jacob, once a lone traveler with a staff, returned with immense herds, wealth enough to gift his brother Esau hundreds of animals without strain, and ultimately bore the divine name “Israel”—“Prince with God.”

The real “scale” of these men is not about their physical height but about the staggering scope of their authority, wealth, and God-given responsibility. They were spiritual and temporal princes who ruled households, trained armies, administered justice, and represented God before kings. Their greatness, far from being mythic exaggeration, is recorded in the biblical text itself—if only we enlarge our mental picture to match its scale. By measuring them rightly, the biblical stories come alive in their true historical and theological weight: these were not peasants or background characters, but titans of history chosen and blessed by God to shape nations.

In this episode of God’s World, God’s Way, Nathan Conkey takes listeners deep into Genesis 27—the dark, complex story of Isaac’s attempted blessing of Esau. Though most Bibles label the chapter “Jacob’s Deception,” the episode exposes a far more troubling reality: Isaac, the patriarch of promise, was himself plotting rebellion against God. Driven by appetite and favoritism, Isaac schemed in secret to bless the son God had rejected, revealing a man whose body and soul had grown blind—physically, morally, and spiritually. His obsession with “delicious food” becomes a symbol of his deeper corruption: a man whose god had become his belly, and whose actions threatened to derail the covenant line of Christ itself.

Against this backdrop, the episode re-examines Jacob and Rebekah’s so-called “deception.” Far from a selfish act of trickery, their intervention emerges as a desperate, faith-driven attempt to prevent Isaac’s blasphemous defiance of God’s revealed will. Drawing on parallels with Sarah, the Hebrew midwives, Rahab, and Zipporah, Nathan argues that faith sometimes demands decisive—and even deceptive—action to preserve God’s covenant purposes. The story is not a moral tale of good versus bad, but a sobering revelation of divine sovereignty working through human weakness, where Rebekah’s courage and Jacob’s obedience avert disaster and ensure that God’s promise, “the elder shall serve the younger,” stands unbroken.

This episode challenges the common assumption that Jacob was a thief who stole Esau’s birthright. Nathan Conkey argues instead that scripture shows Jacob as an upright man, an ish tam (undefiled, perfect, upright), while Esau is revealed as profane, careless, and contemptuous of holy things. By exploring the Hebrew text, the prophetic promises given before the twins were born, and Jacob’s conduct in preparing stew and securing a lawful oath, Nathan demonstrates that Jacob acted justly and in accordance with God’s will. The transaction between the brothers was a simple, binding exchange: Esau willingly sold his birthright for bread and stew, showing that he despised what was sacred.

The episode further warns against taking Esau’s false accusation at face value, as much of the church has done for centuries. By echoing Esau’s claim that Jacob “took” his birthright, Christians have borne false witness against the man whom God loved. Esau’s contempt for his inheritance, his profane swearing, his marriages to Hittite women, and his violent intentions all reveal him as the seed of the serpent, while Jacob stands in the line of the promised seed. Nathan urges believers to meditate carefully on God’s Word, like the Bereans, rather than relying on tradition or superficial readings. The conclusion is clear: Jacob did not steal; Esau despised—and God’s judgment between them remains decisive.

Listeners are encouraged to see Jacob not as a scoundrel but as an example of how believers must contend with the wicked, endure struggles, and fight faithfully for their God-given inheritance in Christ.

In this opening episode of God’s World, God’s Way, Nathan Conkey examines the life of Esau and reveals him as more than Jacob’s brother—he is portrayed as one of Scripture’s great enemies of God’s people. Drawing from Genesis 25 and other passages, Nathan explores Esau’s rejection of God’s purpose for man, his selfish devotion to hunting, his spiritual ties to Ishmael and Nimrod, and his murderous hatred toward Jacob. The discussion connects Esau’s character to the ongoing presence of the “Esau Spirit” today—self-serving, anti-Christian forces that oppose God’s kingdom—while reminding listeners that God has promised victory to His chosen people over all such opposition.
