Racism Is Not Human (Part 2) Racism is a destructive form of prejudice that fosters negative attitudes toward individuals based on their racial or ethnic group. It often relies on harmful stereotypes and can lead to discrimination and even violence. Discrimination occurs when people are treated unfairly because of aspects of their identity, such as race, gender, age, religion, nationality, ability, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status. This unfair treatment can be both personal and institutional, stemming directly from biased beliefs.

According to Merriam-Webster, racism is the belief that race determines a person’s traits and abilities—a mindset that has fueled the dangerous notion that some races are superior to others. This leads to systems where one racial group is favored over others, shaping inequalities in politics, the economy, and social structures. In this episode, we explore ten key causes of racism, especially as they impact Black communities, examining how prejudice manifests on both individual and systemic levels. Understanding these root causes is essential in confronting racism and working toward a more just and equal society.

Because in the end, we must remember: racism is not human.

Racism is a harmful prejudice that causes negative feelings towards people based on their group identity. It often involves harmful stereotypes and can lead to racial discrimination and even violence. Discrimination means treating people unfairly because of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, ability, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, or other identities. This unfair treatment can happen at both individual and institutional levels. Discrimination is a direct result of prejudice and leads to harmful and unjust treatment of people in marginalized groups. We must recognize and address these issues to create a fairer society. Merriam-Webster defines "racism" as the belief that a person's race determines their traits and abilities. This belief has led to harmful ideas that suggest some races are better or worse than others. Racism also means treating one racial group unfairly, which gives advantages to other groups in society, the economy, and politics. These definitions are important for understanding this article, which looks at ten main causes of racism, especially against Ebony people, at both personal and systemic levels. It is essential to remember that racism is not human!

Have you ever stopped to consider whether you are holding yourself back from achieving true success in life? The reality is that each of us has the power to shape our own existence. Life does not simply unfold according to external circumstances; instead, it reflects the choices we make and the mindset we adopt. Your choices, not external factors, are the true determinants of your success. Too often, we mistakenly believe that success depends on people, situations, or opportunities outside of ourselves. However, the actual key to success lies in our perspective and how we perceive our circumstances. Success is not merely a stroke of luck or a gift bestowed upon a select few; it is something we actively cultivate and create through our thoughts, actions, and most importantly, perseverance. When we embrace the belief that we can achieve greatness, we set in motion the pathways that lead us toward our goals. It is our perseverance and refusal to give up that truly pave the way to success.

The concept of energy revolves around the ability to be active. Having high energy levels indicates a preference for staying active, while planning a low-energy day suggests a more relaxed and leisurely approach. Positive Energy holds immense significance as it has the potential to bring about transformative changes in our lives, leading us to successful outcomes. Our physical and mental energy profoundly influences our personality, behavior, and decision-making processes. It impacts our motivation, determination, and overall perspective on life. Notably, positive energy not only yields mental and social benefits but also significantly contributes to improved physical health. Individuals with a positive mindset tend to enjoy better physical health, including lower blood pressure, heart rate, stress-related hormones, and stronger immune systems. Positivity serves as a powerful tool in stress reduction, lowering the risk of heart failure, stroke, and diabetes. Furthermore, individuals experiencing more positive emotions tend to sleep better, experience less anxiety, and have fewer instances of colds, ultimately enhancing their productivity. Our energy reflects our attitude and outlook, influencing those around us, including our professional and personal circles. Maintaining a sense of positive energy can yield numerous benefits for the mind and body. Embracing a more positive mindset and behavior can infuse hope and optimism into our lives. A common underlying theme is that energy plays a pivotal role in determining our success in both personal and professional realms. The energy we exude shapes our environment and the world around us.

Self-care is a proactive approach where individuals take on the responsibility of managing their own health and well-being. It's about utilizing available information, resources, and knowledge to make informed decisions about one's health. This decision-making process not only allows individuals to care for their own well-being efficiently but also provides the convenience of collaborating with healthcare and social care professionals as required to ensure comprehensive support.

The World Health Organization, known as WHO, defines self-care as an empowering practice individuals undertake to establish and maintain their health and prevent and manage illness. It encompasses a wide range of activities, from environmental factors. It's about taking charge of your well-being.

Living with a divine purpose is crucial for a fulfilling and successful life. Have you found contentment and fulfillment in your life? Have you unearthed and harnessed your fullest potential? Most importantly, do you desire to lead a life driven by a divine purpose? A purpose is not merely a task or possession; it constitutes the essence of our being, influencing our choices and sculpting the path of our lives. It serves as your GPS, guiding you toward your distinct destination.

The essence of purpose resonates within every individual, compelling them to blossom into action. I find great inspiration in the lives of those who have pursued their divine callings. One individual who particularly motivates me to strive for my utmost potential is Rachel Robinson, the wife of Jackie Robinson, the first African American baseball player. Her unwavering determination and grace serve as a constant driving force, instilling in me the courage to embrace my divine purpose and lead a fulfilling life.

What is an affliction? It is a state of pain, distress, grief, and misery: A cause of mental or bodily pain, such as sickness, loss, calamity, or persecution. Affliction can come in many forms that will cause a person to suffer. It can be self-direct, a judgment from the Creator God, a divine purpose for purification, a persecution from another person, or a spiritual attack from satan. Life is not a bed of roses; it's more like a bed of nails. Life is hard and filled with many storms along the way. But whoever stays in their suffering that deviated from the cause of affliction, misfortune, and trials can hinder them from achieving their dreams and divine purpose. This month, we will dedicate the IT'S REAL TALK show to acknowledging the Creator God as the knight in shining armor to help us escape our afflictions. March is a celebration of the Creator God that I and many others celebrate as the month of Passover. The Passover represents coming out of afflictions. Regardless of the challenges, the Creator God instituted the Passover to remind his followers that they are not alone. The Passover celebration encourages his followers that he is our Savior who will deliver us from all our suffering. He will save those who diligently acknowledge him as their Savior, Lord, and knight in shining armor who rescues them in need.

This is part 4 of the four-part series Coming Out of Adversity.

To love thy neighbor, one must have the attitude to treat other people as they would treat themselves. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Love thy neighbor is a golden rule from the Supreme Being, so people can learn how to live in his kingdom. When love is not the dormant factor, hate is in the midst. Hatred is a domestic violence act committed by people who have hate in their hearts for their fellow neighbors. These kinds of people usually commit violence against people of different races and cultures. Negro's are prime examples of how other people of different races and cultures have expressed their hatred towards them. This kind of violence has caused Negro Americans to suffer from a marred self-image that has significantly scarred their psychological being, such as mental/emotional health. It also caused a negative self-concept, which led to self-destructive attitudes and a struggle toward equality in American life. Fortunately, February is a reminder that love is essential because it displays the heart of Valentine's Day. Be aware that Valentine's Day can cause people to suffer anxiety and feel lonely. However, if you are experiencing these emotions during Valentine's Day, try practicing self-love. Love is essential to helping create hope for people suffering from equality, low self-esteem, anxiety, or loneliness. It gives all people an opportunity, especially Negro Americans, to rewrite a positive self-image of themselves and celebrate self-love through the acknowledgment of Negro History Month.

This show is about changing your life for the better so that you can face life's challenges more optimistically. Life is full of its ups and downs. We do things that might not result in being so favorable, and we cannot undo them to fix the situation. Some of us wait until a new year starts and make resolutions to change our challenging situations. Unfortunately, the majority of us don't stay true to the resolution. 2024 is not just a new year but a new beginning to do something different in approaching our life challenges. The year 2024 requires us to create solutions instead of resolutions. Creating solutions will help us to change our lives for the better.

The show is about the impact of trauma on individuals, families, and communities. Trauma is events or circumstances that have an adverse possibility of negatively happening to anyone worldwide. Anyone can be a potential person to experience some trauma because there are no boundaries such as age, gender, socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. Trauma can affect an individual in three ways: acute, chronic, or complex. A person who experiences a traumatic event will become a victim of trauma, leaving them to suffer psychologically and mentally. Although researchers state trauma is common, numerous people are victims of trauma and do not know they are. Here at It's Real Talk, we want to reveal that the impact of trauma is a problem in communities and our listeners need to know.

The Show is about Your Uniqueness is a Driving Force to Initiate Growth. Everyone has a talent, gift, or strength to contribute to society. Our unique ability is much needed within the communities to help keep it safe, growing, and thriving into abundance. When we unleash our unique abilities, we can be diverse and connect our passion, values, and interests to other people. Our uniqueness creates personal fulfillment, empowerment, and the potential to live a creative life. Our responsibility is to formulate our talent, gift, or strength to be productive, multiply, and flourish. If we are not flourishing as productive human beings, we might be dealing with a problem of stagnating, which can block our productivity. Stagnant people cannot flow naturally, which causes them to stop developing goodness in the universe and keeps us from growing, progressing, or advancing in life. If you are not using your unique value, it is time to discover your talent, gift, and strength. And become proactive so you can contribute your uniqueness.

The episode is about breaking the cycle of poverty mentality, meaning letting go of your scarcity mindset.

It's a five-part series about how the communities lack essential resources to maintain: healthy mental health, spiritual wellness, a thriving social class, physical fitness, and a solid financial system flowing in abundance. There are limitations on the number of opportunities provided for community families. So, part one of breaking the cycle of poverty exposes some limitations that negatively affect mental health. And how the limitations keep these communities constantly experiencing low quality of life, resulting in impaired cognition that contributes to community families settling for poverty, worries, and uncertainty, which cause mental health issues like depression and anxiety.
