How many of you have ever tried to manifest something and then something unusual happened or where it just didn't show up?

There is a wide range of things we all look to manifest, it could be love, it could be money, it could be in anything, and we all know that it can be incredibly frustrating. What happens is that you can keep creating the same exact thing over and over again.

What we manifest has a lot to do with the way we think and our brain waves. These range for an adult from beta in your walking state, to alpha, delta and theta.

As a baby when you are born what happens is your brain waves are generally in theta.

As you grow you start to download and copy the reality around you. There are 3 stages that you move through as you grow, the first is from a baby to 7 years old and is called the imprint stage with your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, ideas and things that happened and you take on board with no filters to basically become you and you're filled with these thoughts, feelings and decisions.

To download a full copy of the transcript select the link below, copy and paste into your favorite browser and you will be able to access and read and or copy the resource (pdf): https://bit.ly/EnergyAbundanceMeditation

Have fun trying out the meditation and I am sure that you will find it empowering.

The varying degrees of your energy level can be your best friend or your worst enemy. Sometimes you have to have the energy to complete a task or activity and other times you seem to have the most energy when you’re trying to relax. If you can learn how to manage your energy levels effectively, you can move ahead rather than lag behind.

Here are some tips about how to manage your energy levels so that you’re ready for anything – any time.

1. Determine the times you’re most energetic. Some people are more energetic in the mornings and others are night owls. You should be able to determine from past experience which time of day you get more done. Those are the times you should schedule the most difficult or mind bending of tasks.

2. Identify what drains you of your energy. Be honest about this assessment. When you know which obstacles and situations keep you from being the best you can be, you can do what it takes to minimize them or eradicate them from your life.

3. When you do have energy is it negative or positive? If you have lots of energy, but your output is all about negativity, you are likely in a constant reactive mode rather than a positive, active mode. Negative, but energetic people never seem to have enough time to get things done.

4. Use your energy to make headway, not merely survive. We all have increasing demands on our time. The way that we meet it determines whether we go through life just barely getting by or having the energy to advance. Quit rushing through in survival mode simply to get things done. Choose performance over immediate solutions.

5. Be consistent in the way you handle situations. When you experience energy highs and lows, you may find yourself reacting to situations according to your energy level. If you’re energetic, you can be positive, but if you’re lethargic you could react in a totally negative manner. Try to be consistent in your reactions and it will help your energy levels to be consistent.

Thomas Leonard, a highly successful financial planner and business entrepreneur says that time is an illusion – “There’s no such thing as time management. There’s only activity management in the time we’re given.” How much activity you get done in that allotted time is directly responsible for how energetic you are.

'Time is fixed, energy flex's'

Make your activities into priorities according to your energy level. Performing low-energy tasks at times when you’re least energetic and high-energy tasks at times when you energy level is highest can help you meet all the demands and expectations and still have time to relax and enjoy life.

Simple doesn't always mean easy, so take things slowly and you will find that your ability to do things will get easier and quicker...with more energy to spare.

Good luck, Paul.

You’ve likely heard the old adage, “Life is a marathon, not a sprint.” If you’re trying to manage your time effectively without paying attention to your energy management, you may end up with sprints rather than finishing the marathon of your life.

Experts are now saying that productivity and success have more to do with how you manage your energy than it does with time management. Whether it is in business, professional, family or social situations, we often try to do everything that gives us more time.

Eating healthy, staying fit, spending time with our children and connecting with others all take time and we do have to schedule some of our interests. Whether we have the energy for those interests is a problem that’s often overlooked.

Trying to adhere to certain times to manage everything can leave us all exhausted so that we’re not even able to relax and enjoy ourselves when we’ve “scheduled the time” for it.

The alternative to managing your time is to manage your energy effectively. It works by taking time for recovering from those lengthy sprints you take so you can finish the marathon with ease rather than anguish.

Here are some tips for managing your energy effectively:

List how you like to rejuvenate yourself. Make a list of what makes you feel refreshed, more creative and lifts your mood. Writing them down will help to remind you about the benefits of these uplifting activities. For example, watching a great series or show you’re following on television, sipping a cup of tea and listening to music can be very rejuvenating to your energy levels.

Double the time you usually take for breaks. Don’t stick to a time table when it comes to reviving your energy level. Take an hour rather than half an hour and have fun with whatever you’re doing.

Reward yourself for every goal reached. Do you have lots of projects and it seems you’ll never finish them to be able to relax and enjoy yourself. Break those projects down into parts and reward yourself after you complete each one – rather than waiting until the entire project is finished.

Make frequent recovery stops. While you’re on that mile-long sprint, you may feel the need to stop and renew your spirits and your energy. Do it! You’ll feel so much more like completing the marathon and you’ll be happier at the finish line.

Managing your energy is a much more effective way to get through life rather than putting time limits and making schedules for everything. Your inner energy thermostat doesn’t pay any attention to the time table you’ve created. Instead, make your energy the most important factor in the long marathon that is your life, its worth it.

Remember that a journey is a series of destinations, and worth stopping to spend time at each.

Good luck, Paul.

When you’re not managing your energy properly, you’re likely to experience emotions such as anger, frustration, exhaustion and other emotions that can compromise your health.

When you know how to manage your energy and enjoy an abundance of it your emotions will be connected, passionate, peaceful and positive. The outlook you get when you have energy to be productive and enjoy life can make a world of difference in your present and future health.

There never seems to be enough time to get things done, so we exist by multi-tasking on the run. For example, you may be eating a sandwich, driving a car and talking on the telephone all at once at any given time of the day. You may have gotten done what you had on your ‘list’, but you’re probably exhausted at the end of the day.

Personal energy management techniques can help produce a more natural energy and one that’s healthier for you. When you focus on the physical ways to produce energy, it serves you better than trying to get things done using ways that leave you mentally and physically depleted.

Here are some simple ways to enjoy better health by managing your personal energy:

1. Get rid of energy drainers. An energy drainer might be in the form of a person or a task. Assess the people around you and distance yourself from those who leave you exhausted when you leave their presence.

2. Dance (move your body). Take a lesson from children -- move your body to some funky rhythms and re-energize your body and mind. Just a few minutes of dancing around the room will give you some much needed positive energy.

3. Learn and practice a ‘healing’ art. Energy healing sessions such as Tai Chi and Reiki are especially great for renewing the energy levels of your mind, body and spirit so that you feel better and enjoy a healthier lifestyle.

4. Discover what makes you happy. You may not be able to do what makes you happy 24/7, but you can rejuvenate your body and mind by engaging in those activities on a regular basis. You may enjoy crafts, cooking, reading, watching or playing sports. Do what makes you happy and enjoy better health.

5. Nourish your spiritual side. Take some time out of every day to nourish your spirit by a number of ways. You can connect with nature by gardening or walking or even just sitting in a garden listening to the sounds of nature. Take time to meditate and search through your soul until you feel rejuvenated.

Many times we forget that keeping healthy isn’t just about diet and exercise. A positive outlook and surrounding ourselves with positive energy by managing our energy wisely can do wonders for our health.

A special quote that helps me all the time is: 'Time is fixed, and energy flexes'. So be open to be flexible and adaptable.

Having fun and good luck. Paul

Need to make a presentation but are nervous about how well your message will be received? By focusing on your body language, you’ll enhance the words you’re delivering and connect better with the audience and enjoy a more positive response to what you have to say. Read on for some great tips to get you started.

Start with Addressing Your Stress

It’s not easy to get up in front of an audience and speak. To get past those opening jitters, start backstage (or in the hallway, or wherever you can have a private moment before beginning). Experts say to begin with centering yourself, looking straight ahead. Then take a deep breath, tensing your muscles you do so. Then release the tension in your muscles as you breathe out. Do this until you feel steady. Going out to speak entirely relaxed means your body language will likewise be relaxed, making you more engaging and easier to connect to.

Define Your Emotions

Whenever you speak, you’re going to want your audience to connect to a specific emotion or set of emotions. Ask yourself before you begin what emotions you want them to experience. How can you like those emotions to your own? The more you connect on this personal level, the more authentic your message will sound, and the more your body language will be in tune with your message.

Begin in Confidence

Walk into the room as though you own it. Be confident and proud, head up, back straight, with big, loose and easy strides. Audiences love confident speakers as they seem more trustworthy and will respond favorably right from the start to what you have to say.

Dodge the Lectern

The last thing you want to do is to hide behind a piece of furniture while speaking. Instead, own the room by stepping out where everyone can see you. The same goes for notes. The less you read from something, the better. Have someone else handle the visual aids if you can to keep yourself further unencumbered.

Know When to Move…and When Not To

Use your entire body to make a point. Shift your position on the stage when you need to change topics or move onto another point but stand still while making that point. These subtle shifts will guide your audience through your message, guiding them where you want them to go.

Being able to use your body to better convey your message will make what you have to say much more powerful, and more likely to be heard. Do take the time to practice these skills beforehand as you rehearse your presentation then relax and have fun with it.

What most people don't do enough off is practice, not just 1, 2 or 10 times but 100's of times so that it becomes natural and part of your unique DNA.

Good luck, Paul.

There’s nothing more frustrating than having your credibility doubted, especially when you’ve been trying your best to convey something you believe passionately. If you find this happening often, you might want to consider what your body language might be saying about you.

Body language becomes crucial to career success, especially when your reputation is on the line. By paying attention to how you stand and move as you interact with others, you’ll find you’re better able to convey your message, which will advance your credibility as well.

With this in mind, let’s look at some quick tips to will you use your head before you set the rest of your body in motion.

What do you do to Pump Yourself Up?

Sometimes the problem lies in the tone and attitude in which you first engage in a conversation. Remember, someone confident is always going to come off as being genuine. If you’re afraid you’re not feeling it, take a minute before you engage socially to pump yourself up. Remember a time when you were feeling at your confident best. Hold onto this feeling and make it your own all over again. Keep this feeling while you are engaging others and you will find it goes a long way.

Listen to Yourself Talk

Studies have shown that people automatically react to certain voices in specific ways. A high-pitched voice seems nervous and insincere. Try pitching your voice a little lower as you talk. Also, pay attention to the speed at which the words come out of your mouth. People tend to speed up when nervous so it might be wise to slow down a little. A calm tone and pace enhance credibility.

Lose the Nervous Twitch

When anxious, it’s not uncommon to fidget with things. What you might not realize is that by fidgeting and or twitching around is going to make it look like you’re hiding something. For the sake of sincerity, you need to break those habits fast!

Try this trick: While seated, you might have your hand steady, but your foot might be tapping or moving around. These things happen unconsciously which is in your blind spot, something you don’t see or realise, it is your ‘Go To Behavior’ that you’re particularly use to gravitating towards in social situations. For example, are you a hair twirler? Do you play with your pen in meetings? When you spot the behaviors starting, take a deep breath, and put your hands, palm down on your legs, on your lap, or on the table. This usually will calm your down and give you the added bit of confidence you need to make your point.

Pay Attention to the Basics

Don’t forget the cardinal rules. Watch your posture, maintain eye contact, and use open gestures when speaking. If you’re going for a smile, make sure it’s genuine. These are the building blocks of confident credibility. Don’t trip yourself up by forgetting something so basic.

With the right body language, you’ll gain the confidence in your interactions, and build the credibility needed to advance your career to the next level. It all starts with being smart and paying attention to your body language.

Keep it simple and have fun.

Good luck, Paul.

Not all of us feel confident in social situations. In fact, recent polls show 2 out of 3 people have experienced some kind of social anxiety. Unfortunately, the world is full of social situations, in every aspect of your work and personal life.

While you can’t always change your need to engage with the people around you, you can change how you feel about it. In fact, through some attention to your body language, you can feel more confident the next time you sit down with someone else. Here’s how:

Start at the Handshake

Not too hard, not too soft, but somewhere in the middle will serve you perfectly. Don’t be afraid to practice this beforehand with someone you trust to give you an honest opinion.

Put the Focus on Them

From the moment you shake hands, you should be practicing good eye contact. Meet their eyes at the handshake and keep them there, especially when you’re making a point or asking a question. The rule of thumb? Look them in the eye about 60% of the time. While it feels intimidating at first, you’ll be amazed at how your own confidence levels rise when you do.

Lean into the Conversation

By leaning toward someone when they talk, you convey interest. You’ll also find the added side benefit of hearing them better in crowded social situations, so it’s a win all around.

Are you slouching?

Different polls have shown that anywhere from 50 – 80% of people have bad posture. This is not only unhealthy for your back (and even your digestion!) but gives the impression you’re disinterested, bored, or disengaged. Draw yourself up and stand tall and proud. A confident posture will go a long way toward boosting your confidence and the confidence placed in you by those you converse with.

Keep Your Head Up

Keeping your head down, your face turned away, or hiding behind your hair are all traits of someone who’s trying to hide. It’s time to come out in the open by putting your chin up and being proud of who you are.

Don’t get Handsy

Fidgeting with things or burying your hands in your pockets are both signs of nervousness. Keep your hands in the open, palms up, making slow, natural movements as you speak. This will calm you down and leave you feeling more in control.

Walk Like You Mean It

Come into a room slowly, with big steps. Confidence blooms with a confident walk.

By paying attention to each of these seven things, you’ll find you feel more in control of the situation. You’ll be able to relax and focus on the enjoyment that comes of truly connecting with someone else. In the end, you’ll feel less anxious in social situations in general, leaving you one of the lucky few who never experiences social anxiety at all.

Confidence is a learnt skill and needs practice to get it right. It doesn't always happen the first time, with practice it will however happen more often.

Good luck, Paul.

Not sure if you’re getting your point across? Learning how to read your audience’s body language saves a whole lot of guesswork when it comes to figuring out what just how much of your message is being received. Read on for Eight Ingenious Tips that will let you know when you’re being heard…and when you’re not.

Closed body positions

When arms or legs are crossed, you can be fairly sure your message is not being received. It’s easy to spot, as the other person is putting up a physical barrier between you and them, showing they’re not interested in what you have to say.

Fake Smiles

Some fake smiles are obvious to spot. Others, though, take some looking. If you’re not sure whether a particular grin is real, check the eyes. You’ll notice fine crinkling lines around the eyes when you’ve got a real smile. If the smile doesn’t reach their eyes, they’re faking it.

Mirroring

When you see someone copying your body language, you’ve got them hooked. Body mirroring is a subconscious thing we do when we’re on the same wavelength as the person we’re talking to. It’s why we shift or take a drink or make another small movement when someone else does it first.

Posture

Check how they’re standing or sitting. Are they sitting up straight and exerting power, or are they slumped, with rounded shoulders? Typically, a more confident posture shows the other person is engaged, while poor posture conveys a lack of interest.

Uneasy Eye Contact

If someone is looking at you too long, they’re probably lying. This is because people know they need to have good eye contact to look like they are being truthful. The problem is most people don’t really know how long to hold it, and so they will stare a little too long, to the point of making you subconsciously uncomfortable. This is why we typically sense someone is lying without quite understanding why we feel that way.

Climbing Eyebrows

Have you ever noticed where your eyebrows are when you’re relaxed? It’s impossible to raise them when we’re calm. On the other hand, the higher an eyebrow is raised, the more worried your listener is becoming. If you’re not telling a story designed to inspire a certain amount of anxiety, then it could be they’re not comfortable with what you’re saying.

Too Much Nodding

The more a person nods in a conversation, the more you can be sure they’re worried about seeming to disagree when inwardly they’re very likely cringing away from the situation.

Clenching

If you see a clenched jaw, tight neck muscles or other rigidity in their expression, the other person is probably very stressed. In this situation, see what the other person is saying to see if words sync up with body language. If not, beware!

These are some of the most obvious clues that you can use to read your audience.

The more you practice the better you will get at reading others quickly.

Good luck, Paul.

Not sure your message is getting across? It might be because you’re sending mixed signals. By paying attention to your body language, you can be sure you’re always saying exactly what you intend, both verbally or non-verbally.

Follow these quick tips to make sure your body language is congruent with your message:

Know What You’re Talking About

It’s impossible to convey to the world anything very clearly if you’re not sure what you’re saying in the first place. Your body language will give away your own confusion, and more often than not leave your audience confused as to what you’re trying to convey. This is why it’s so important to settle in your own mind what your goals are before you even begin.

Believe What You Say

If you’re not buying what you’re selling, then how in the world do you expect others to believe in you? This means you need to know what you’re talking about, and you need to believe in the words you say. Unsure of the veracity of your message? You’ll need to convince yourself if you expect your body language to be in alignment!

Take a Minute

Body language will look forced if you’re nervous, regardless of what you’re saying. Take a deep breath. Shake out your hands or go into a restroom to regroup if you’re getting overwhelmed. Once calm, continue, knowing your body language will convey this, which will be taken as confidence in your message.

Don’t Oversell the Part

Using large, exuberant gestures only makes your body language look insincere and like something out of a melodrama. Keep your movements natural, your gestures slow and easy.

Be Honest

How can you expect your body language to say you’re sincere when you’re not? Be authentic in what you’re talking about, and your body will reflect this.

Read the Crowd

Learning some of the basics of body language will help you to adjust your own. Pay attention to the signals that someone is losing interest (crossed arms, looking away). These are examples of closed body language, and it shows that something about your message is throwing them off or making them feel anxious. It might be time to adjust what you’re doing to create the incongruity.

Create Rapport

Lean in while talking, keep the eye contact at a comfortable level, and encourage your listener to relax into the conversation with you. Once you have rapport between you, you know your message is being listened to in the way you want it to be.

In short, if you want your message to be heard and accepted, pay attention to your body language – and theirs. A little effort on your part will go a long way toward creating the situation you desire.

Good luck and have fun, Paul.

Body language is what gets you noticed or left by the wayside. A person who shows they are competent and confident will stand out in every interaction, while the one who is meek and self-effacing is likely to never be noticed at all.

How then do you use body language to get yourself noticed in all the right ways?

Remember, You’re Superman

If you think of pictures you’ve seen of the comic book hero, Superman, you’ll likely picture someone standing firmly on two feet, hands on hips, shoulders back, and head up, every inch the hero. There is nothing in his posture to imply he’s not confident and perfectly capable of whatever is thrown his way. Studies prove that standing in the Superhero pose for a few minutes before a meeting or discussion you aren’t feeling confident about will change your whole demeanor during the interaction.

Where’s that Smile?

Things not going well? Try smiling. No fake grin allowed, though. Instead, find a happy thought and pull out a genuine smile. It will immediately shift your brain chemistry and put you on a more even keel. Better than that, it’ll likely pull up a smile from your audience as well. I always like to tell myself and others, let the smile that's inside find its way out to your face.

Play all the Angles

When confrontation brews, it’s time to defuse the situation. Rather than step back, shift sideways. Oddly enough, a 45-degree angle has the strange effect of calming people down, mostly because standing fully facing someone can feel aggressive, and turning away gives the wrong message.

Go for the Quick Charisma Points

Talk with your hands. A lot. Using expansive gestures while talking makes you more approachable and engaging and wins more support than someone who is stiff and awkward.

Break Down their Resistance

Talking to someone who is so 'closed off' they’ve got their arms crossed tight against their chest? Break their pose. Offer them something, a business card or a bottle of water. Make them shift their position to take it, and they’ll shift their attitude toward one more favorable to you.

Where’s All that Energy?

Lagging a little? It’s time to dial things up a notch. Focus on a time when you felt high energy and ready to take on the world. Now channel your energy and bring it to the conversation. Watch the magic happen.

Don’t Look Away…Mostly

In the course of conversation, it’s nearly impossible to maintain eye contact while thinking. With this in mind, maintain your eye contact until the point where you need to consider your words. It’s okay to drop your eyes to consider the matter, so long as you regain eye contact before you begin your answer.

By paying attention to your body language, life will begin to change for the better. This is the cornerstone of the success waiting for you in your work and personal life. You really can be everything you’ve always dreamed you could be.

Its worth taking the risk and trying these things out, afterall you really don't have anything to loose afterall!

Good luck, Paul.

You have something important to say, but you’re worried. You’ve given presentations before, and even talked about this passion in smaller group settings, but you’ve had mixed results. Sometimes people really seem to ‘get’ you, but others don’t seem to get the right message.

The problem very likely lies in your body language. Depending on how your feeling, or how you’re reacting to your audience, your body language might be differing greatly from one conversation to the next. How do you get more positive results where you can come away from a conversation with the assurance your audience got the right message?

Alignment

How do you stand when talking to someone? If you want to convey that you’re fully engaged, stand facing the other person completely. If things are getting tense and need to be defused, angle your body by about 45 degrees and continue your conversation in this position until things calm down.

Mirroring

People show they’re committed to your way of thinking when they sync up their body movements to yours. Encourage this by beginning the conversation by subtly mirroring their movements.

Lean In

To show you’re engaged. Move in towards the other person. Leaning in their direction as though to hear better, lets the other person know you are interested in what they are saying.

Gestures

By using smaller, more controlled gestures, you imply you’re in control. At the same time, make sure those gestures are loose enough, so you don’t give the impression of being uptight or nervous.

Handshake

A firm, but gentle handshake will always impress.

Blinking

When people are nervous, they tend to blink excessively. Be aware of this. If you find yourself blinking a lot, focus on relaxing by taking slower, more even breaths.

Modulation

Keep your tone of voice low and even. Talking quickly or in a higher pitched than usual voice, also convey nervousness. Keep every statement from sounding like a question.

Smile

A genuine smile will put people at their ease, and often encourage them to smile in return.

Walk

If you’re up on stage, be sure to move around and not stay in one spot. Shift to a new position between pertinent points.

Guide

Pull the other person out of a defensive posture by handing them something, a business card or water bottle. This shifts their perspective as it shifts them physically.

Making sure your audience heard what you intended for them to hear is the greatest challenge of any communicator. Using your body language to get your point across becomes one of the most important tools at your disposal to do just that.

We will have a look at some archetypal body language in another session to help get your message across.

Remember to take the first step and try these out.

Good luck, Paul

You thought everything was fine at work. Now you’re caught up in a workplace drama and have no idea how you got there. What do you do when you’ve been saying all the right things to the right people and are still up a tree?

Chances are, while the words were great when talking to your coworkers, your body language wasn’t. Where did you go wrong?

You were Slouching

Being slumped over generally means you’re tired, but at work, it’s going to look like you’re not interested in what’s being said. In the worst-case scenario, you’ll be perceived as not wanting to do the work, or that you’re unhappy being there. The solutions? Straighten up!

You Were Off Kilter

Did you know that when you are in a conversation with someone, you subconsciously mirror their body language? Now imagine what happens in a team situation if you’re not matching up your actions, tone, or body language with those around you. Best case, they’ll think you’re not paying attention. Worst? You’re not a team player. The solution? Pay more attention to the body language of others to sync your own with theirs.

You Couldn’t Sit Still

People who fuss or fidget during a meeting are seen as disinterested, or even awkward, lacking in confidence. The solution? The next time you feel an urge to play with that pen or grab your phone, place your palms flat on the table, sit up straight and breathe until the feeling passes.

You Weren’t Engaging

When was the last time you had a conversation with a co-worker and were only half listening to what they said? If you weren’t making all the proper noises in all the right places, you’re seen as being standoffish and cold, and disinterested in being a team player. The solution? Lean into the conversation, take part. Smile and nod or make noises to show you’re paying attention.

You Didn’t Smile

If you’re not given to smiling around the workplace, you’re seen as unhappy to be there, or as being disinterested in what’s going on around you. The solution? Find something to smile about. A fake smile is going to look false, so being able to pull up a genuine smile will get you far more mileage in the long run.

Paying just a little more attention to your body language and making sure it matches what you are saying and feeling, will make office interactions go much more smoothly.

Remember things only change when you take action, so give it a try!
