In this episode, using John 15:1-5, I share my thoughts on why I believe Christians can do nothing without Jesus, and how we miss out on a deeper relationship with the LORD due to our limited understanding of this passage.

Pride Goes Before Destruction

"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall." Proverbs 16:18

We can either humble ourselves before the LORD OR reject Jesus and live in pride. One leads to everlasting life, the other leads to destruction.

Only the Holy Spirit can help us recognise the sinners we are and our need for a Saviour.

In Matthew 7:21-23, Jesus says: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”

In the end, will the Lord Jesus receive you and say “Welcome home my good and faithful servant!” 😃 OR will He not recognise you? 😱

WHEN Christianity Is Criminalised

It's no secret that a lot of people don't like Christians.

We are hated because our beliefs and values are offensive to those who don't want to be told they are sinners needing repentance and faith in Jesus to be saved.

It won't be long before the champions of "cancel culture" will push for Christianity to be criminalised.

If you are a Christian, especially one undergoing persecution, I pray you will be encouraged by this episode.

If you are someone who hates Christ, know that you will face God's judgement unless you repent and believe in Jesus. My prayer is that you will turn to Christ and be saved.

WHEN Christians Sin

Ravi Zacharias was a famous evangelist and respected by many Christians, UNTIL it came to light that was sexually assaulting women all the while he was in ministry. Christians shouldn't make this scandal all about themselves, rather, pray for those Ravi hurt and ask the Holy Spirit to deal with the sin in our own lives.

Truth is, ALL Christians sin. In this episode, I briefly share about what the Bible says about Christians and sin.

May the Holy Spirit help you overcome whatever sin is causing you to stumble in your walk with Christ so that you can live the life Jesus has called you to live!

Spirit Led, NOT Bigoted

In a previous episode (Ep 5 - The Christian Worldview), I shared some fundamentals about the Christian faith, namely, Jesus being God and the Bible being God's Word. Many people are unaware of these “basics of Christianity”, which then clouds their understanding of the Christian faith. If you haven't watched or listened to the last episode, I strongly encourage you to do so.

With the last episode as the context, in this episode, I hope to address certain things that are generally acceptable in society today, but is not acceptable to Jesus/the God of the Bible and therefore, things that a genuine Christian cannot agree with.

May the Holy Spirit help you understand why genuine Christians believe what we believe and teach you how to respect us as fellow human beings, while agreeing to disagree with us.

The Christian Worldview

It's not uncommon to hear Christians labelled as bigots, the irony being that those who call us bigots are themselves being bigots in the process! Many Christians are called bigots because we remain faithful to Jesus the Way, while rejecting the ways of the world.

In this episode, I briefly discuss how the Christian worldview is based on what Jesus/God teaches in the Bible and why genuine Christians rely on God the Holy Spirit to live by God's Word (the Bible).

Seven Truths About True Christians

Not everyone who calls themselves a Christian, are truly one. So, what makes a Christian, truly a Christian?

In this episode, I go through seven truths from the Bible that shows what it means to be a true Christian.

True Christians are:

✝️ born again because of the work of the Holy Spirit.

✝️ Spirit filled, Spirit led and obedient to Christ.

✝️ always reflecting Christ in their character and conduct.

✝️ known by Jesus as His disciples.

✝️ always walking with Christ, rooted in the Word, and always joyful, thankful and faithful in prayer.

✝️ not perfect but repent of their sin.

✝️ not ashamed of their faith in Jesus and are willing to share the Gospel with others.

I pray the Holy Spirit will give you a clear understanding of what it means to truly be a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, and help you be a true Christian in every sense. 🙏

Only Jesus Can Save Hindus

Many Hindus, like my parents and siblings, will tell you that they love/respect/admire Jesus. Question is, are Hindus referring to the Jesus in the Bible or some other Jesus?

My prayer for those Hindus who will come across this episode is that they will genuinely reflect on their own religion, their own opinions about Jesus and then compare it to what Jesus says about Himself.

I pray that the Holy Spirit will reveal to all Hindus, to everyone who is watching or listening, that Jesus is the One and Only true God and why they desperately need Jesus to save them from their sins!

Focus On Christ, Not The Crisis!

2020 was hard, 2021 doesn't seem like it's going to be a lot better. ☹️

The world we are living in is full of turmoil and increasingly so. 🌏

COVID-19 doesn't look like it's done with us yet. 😷

The US elections and resulting unrest have not only shaken America, but the aftereffects is being felt all around the world. 🇺🇸

If you are not a follower of Jesus, how are you coping with all this? I would like to know. 🤔

The Christian faith is also dealing with the aftermath of many scandals from 2020 (see link under references). 😥

Christian, are you going to ditch Jesus and run for the hills OR are you going to stand firm on the Rock that is Jesus Christ? ✝️

Whether you are a non-Christian or a follower of Jesus, I want you to know that all hope is not lost, that the LORD remains on His throne, and He has everything under control. If you have Jesus, you can rest in His love, joy and peace, no matter what is going on around you or in the world! 🙌

It’s common for people to make New Year’s resolutions at the start of every year, but the reality is that many people are quick to give up on them, often before January even ends!

Pandemic Still Here BUT Jesus ALWAYS Near

2020 is a year that many of us won't soon forget. The pandemic has sadly caused many deaths and ongoing disruption to daily life all across the world.

Where is the LORD God in all this?

Receive Jesus This Christmas

Jesus is why we should celebrate Christmas!

In this episode, first, I would like to tell you about the birth of Jesus by reading from the Scriptures.

I will also ask and answer three questions that every person on earth ought to carefully consider: Who is Jesus? Why did He come to earth? What should we do with this truth? Where you stand on these, directly impacts where you will spend eternity.

This Christmas, I pray that God the Holy Spirit will help you rise above the commercial noise and traditions surrounding Christmas and reveal to you that Jesus is God, the One you should place your trust and faith in to be saved!

Jesus Is Good News NOT Fake News

Jesus is not “just a myth”.

Jesus is not “just a good teacher”.

Jesus is not “just a great prophet”.

Jesus is not “just a man”.

Jesus is not “just one of many gods”.

In this episode, I will take a few minutes to refute the opinions above and God willing, you'll learn why you are wrong to think this way and jeopardise your eternal destiny.

This Christmas, my prayer is that you will accept the fact that the sinless Jesus is more than a myth, more than a good teacher, more than a great prophet, more than just a man, that Jesus is God Almighty, placing your trust and faith in Him to be saved.

Santa Needs Jesus, So Do You!

Christmas is almost here and it is likely that you have spotted a Santa at your local shopping centre, possibly wearing a mask!

Is Christmas really about Santa? Is it just about giving/receiving presents, the parties and the commercialisation of it all?

Dear friends, please don't get distracted by the ways of the world and lose sight of the eternal significance of Christmas.

This Christmas, my prayer is that God the Holy Spirit will help you recognise that God the Son Jesus is the real reason for the season and enable you to receive Him as your Saviour and Lord.

Progressive Christianity is Unbiblical

In a recent poll I ran on Gab, when asked what they considered to be the greatest threat to the Christian faith, of the 1000+ people who voted, 56% chose “Progressive Christianity”, the other choices being Prosperity Gospel (7%), Islam (25%) and Atheism (12%).

God Is In Control

My contract at the university hasn't been renewed. We were hoping to find a home when our rental lease ended, but we have made ZERO progress. My back has been hurting a lot more in recent months and its become worse in the past few weeks. One might say that things are not looking good for my family and I 😥.

In the Bible, in the book of Job (I encourage you to read it if you'd like to meet a man who is no stranger to suffering), after God incites the devil to test Job, and he ends up losing all his possessions and all his children, this is the best his wife could come up:

Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die!” But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips. — Job 2:9-10

Because of Jesus, I am confident the LORD is absolutely in control of everything. Just as He was in charge of Job's life, so He is in charge of my family and I 😃!

Conversation with Raj Part 2 - Can All Religions Be True?

If you haven't checked out part 1 (episode 26), I suggest you do so before you continue. In the first half of the conversation I had with my brother, we attempted to flush out a definition of God 🙌.

In this episode, we tackle a pivotal question: Can all faith systems (Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam etc) be true at the same time 🤔?

Many, like my brother did, will say “Yes!”, but on closer examination of the various faith systems, one will discover that while there may be similarities, there are also major differences 🤔!

In the Bible, when Thomas (one of the disciples) asks Jesus what the way to God is, this is what John 14:6 records: “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” ✝️

My dear friends, if Jesus declared that He is the only/exclusive way to heaven, how can anyone continue to falsely believe that all religions are the same OR that all religions worship the same God 🤔?

Conversation with Raj Part 1 - Defining God

Not too long ago, I asked my brother Raj (a Hindu) whether he would be keen to be a guest on the show, and he agreed 😊.

In preparation, I sent Raj a few questions that I planned on asking him. We agreed that each time we spoke, we would tackle one of the questions and keep our discussions to about half an hour. We were wrong! Our first conversation went for an hour and a half 😝!

Why I Do What I Do

What is it that motivates me to do my work, run my business and serve Jesus online, while having to look after my wife and three kids?

✝️ “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” — 1 Corinthians 10:31 ✝️

I work and run a business to earn a living, so I can support my family, but more importantly, I also want to glorify God in those aspects of my life. Likewise, I don't serve the LORD to earn my salvation or to get rewarded by God, I do so because it's how I show Jesus that I love Him! 🙌

I was once a sinner (Romans 3:23) the Holy Spirit opened my eyes and enabled me to believe in and receive Jesus (Romans 6:23, Romans 10:9)! No one can earn their salvation by doing good works, rather, we do the good works BECAUSE we are saved (Ephesians 2:8-10). 🙏

Whether you're a stay at home parent, or you work in an office, or you are studying at a university, why you do what you do? Are you directed by the status quo? Are you forced by your life situation? Are you driven by worldly success which leads to validation from others?

Why do you do what you do? What is your purpose in life? 🤔

Counterfeit Christianity

Counterfeit Christianity is rampant today and sadly, it is leading many people astray 😥.

I address this “spiritual pandemic” by raising seven questions, which I challenge every Christian to ask about themselves, their church, their pastor and ministries they may be involved in.

I pray that the Holy Spirit will work in you as you listen to what I share, some of which will challenge you, to say the least. Don't be overcome by your emotions, rather, allow the Holy Spirit to help you discern Truth by examining the Scriptures for yourself.

Counterfeit Spirituality

Are you ignoring Jesus and looking for peace in all the wrong places, continually being disappointed and left empty by the counterfeit spirituality rampant in our world today? 😢

In John 14:27, Jesus says: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

True peace can be found in Christ ALONE and no matter how hard you try to make a counterfeit work for you, it cannot replace the Truth. You need God's Holy Spirit to help you recognise you are a sinner in need of the Saviour, Jesus! 🙌

Dancing with the Wolves

In 2 Peter 2:1-2, it is written: “But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.”

It's a fact that there are ravenous wolves in the church because Jesus Himself said so (Matthew 7:15). Sadly, some of these wolves lead big churches, have a huge following online and are leading millions astray.

Are you listening to and learning from shepherds appointed by Christ, under the authority of the Holy Spirit, who are teaching the “whole counsel of God” (Acts 20:27), “rightly dividing the Word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15) and building God's Kingdom?

OR are you being deceived by motivational speakers who tell you what you want to hear, who make you feel good, BUT are spreading fake news instead of the Good News and building their own kingdoms?

In 2 Timothy 4:3-4, it is written: “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.“

Unless we are relying on the Holy Spirit to pursue a personal relationship with Jesus and live in utter dependence on Him (John 15:5), we cannot be the Christians Jesus has called us to be.

If the Bereans “searched the Scriptures daily to find out” if what Apostle Paul taught is true, how much for should we as Christians be examining what we are watching and listening?

In Matthew 7:21-23, Jesus warns us: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”

Does Jesus know the Christian(s) you are a fan of? More importantly, does Jesus know YOU?

Self Control

“So the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.” - Genesis 4:7

Does sin rule over you? When sin reigns, the self will always be out of control! 😱

It is impossible for us to rule over sin without help from the Holy Spirit, and He, the Spirit of Jesus, does not dwell in someone unless they have placed their trust and faith in Jesus!

Becoming a Christian doesn't mean that you will never ever sin. In 1 John 1:8-9, it is written: “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Turn to Jesus today, let Him become the LORD of your life so that sin can no longer lord over you. And WHEN you mess up (ad you will), confess, repent and rest in the forgiveness that is already yours in Christ! 🙌

Every Person NEEDS Jesus!

In Romans 3:23, God's Word (the Bible) declares: “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”.

Many will insist they are a “good person” and will therefore go to heaven. This is because they are using their own definition of what is good. Would they come to the same conclusion if they were to compare themselves to God's standard?

No one can enter heaven UNLESS the penalty for their sins have been paid for, and they have been washed clean to be in the presence of God.

In Romans 10:9, the Bible says “if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;”. There is nothing we can do to save ourselves. We need God the Holy Spirit to help us recognise we are sinners, reveal who Jesus truly is, repent and believe in Him!

However, in John 3:36, Jesus has a word of warning for all: "He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." If heaven is for those who receive Jesus, hell awaits those who reject Him!

Being a Godly Husband

In Ephesians 5:25, it is written: “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her”.

This week, Rob and I discuss the practical implication of this verse and how men who confess Jesus as Saviour and Lord, can be the husbands and fathers that Christ has called us to be.

We as men must stop being complacent in our walk with Jesus and strive in the strength of the Holy Spirit to be godly husbands and fathers!

Created in God's Image or Cosmic Accident!

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” — Genesis 1:26

For the Christian, our identity and worth is tied to this incredible truth in the Scriptures — God made us! We are “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14), not a random product of chance. God has a plan and purpose for us (Jeremiah 29:11), we are not aimless. If this wasn't enough, in Christ, our sins are forgiven, and we have His peace (John 14:27) — whether we are dealing with everyday challenges or a global pandemic.

What is your identity and worth tied to? What is your purpose in life? What is your source of peace?

Are YOU Prepared?

Every day, we need to be prepared for something or the other. Experience has taught us it is unwise to be ill prepared because of the resulting pain, costs and undesirable outcomes.

Spirit led Christians are always prepared to serve the LORD (Ephesians 2:10), share Jesus with others (1 Peter 3:15) and longing to be with the LORD our God (Philippians 1:21).

Were you prepared for this pandemic — the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual battle it has been? Are you prepared to meet your Maker?

Zoom and Gloom

While the ability to do church online in this pandemic affected world is definitely better than not having any opportunity at all to fellowship, many Christians are sadly arriving OR have already arrived at an “online church is enough for me” fallacy.

In Hebrews 10:25, God's Word exhorts us to not forsake assembling together because He wants us to encourage and sharpen each other in our walk with Jesus. This week, we share our thoughts on why its important for Christ's church to fellowship in person, if the opportunity exists.

When You Want Lemonade BUT God Gives You Lemons

In Jeremiah 29:11, God says: 'For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.

Turn to Jesus TODAY and God's Holy Spirit Who will help you face every storm in life with supernatural joy, hope and peace!

The Experts, The Majority or The Almighty

It’s safe to say that the plans/decisions we make are influenced by what we know (or don't know) and who we listen to (or don't listen to).

In the Bible, Proverbs 15:22 says "Without counsel, plans go awry, but in the multitude of counsellors they are established."

But what if the people we seek counsel from, the so-called experts, are driven by ulterior motives? What if those whose opinion we value, are misinformed, or misguided or just plain wrong?

Are you seeking answers from the world OR from God's Word?

Turn to Jesus TODAY and experience God's Wisdom through His Holy Spirit!

Your Anger: Righteous OR Raging?

Do you control your anger, or does it control you?

In the Bible, we do see Jesus get angry: when He clears the temple on two occasions (John 2:13-22, Matthew 21:12-17) and when He calls out the religious leaders (Matthew 23).

The Bible also tells us that Jesus "knew no sin" (2 Corinthians 5:21) and that He is "holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners" (Hebrews 7:26).

We can therefore conclude that anger itself is not sin, rather, our ungodly response WHEN WE ARE ANGRY, is the real issue.

Jesus expressed righteous anger. When we are in a right relationship with Him, with the help of the Holy Spirit, we too can keep this God given emotion in check.

Turn to Jesus TODAY and experience what the LORD can do in and through you!

Who motivates You: God's Spirit OR Your Flesh?

Why do you what you do?

When it comes to "genuine Christians", true followers of Christ, our love for Jesus creates a desire in us to glorify Him in everything (1 Corinthians 10:31). It is not our efforts but God's Spirit (the Holy Spirit) at work in us that makes this possible!

Are you allowing the Holy Spirit to lead you in God's will OR are you doing what you do for recognition and rewards on earth (Matthew 6:1-2)?

Does Jesus know you as a genuine disciple of His (Matthew 7:21-23)?

Not yet a follower of Jesus? I pray you will seek Him today!

Judgement Day: What will Jesus say about YOU?

Did you know that one day, Jesus will judge us all?

In 2 Corinthians 5:10, the Bible says: "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad."

Jesus ALONE decides our destiny! God does not want us to perish, He wants us to repent of our sins and get right with Him and this is ONLY possible through Jesus!

In John 3:36, Jesus says: "He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."

State of Your Soul: Well or Weary?

When we are asked "How are you?", "Good." or "Fine." is a standard response but is it the truth?

The well known hymn, "It Is Well with My Soul" was written by Horatio Spafford. Did you know he penned the words as the ship he was traveling on passed near the site where he had tragically lost all four of his daughters in an accident?

Hebrews 4:15 tells us that Jesus knows what it means to be human, yet he didn't sin.

This Jesus, who strengthened a heartbroken Spafford to declare that his soul is well, is the same Jesus who invites you into a personal relationship with Him!

Your Conscience: Clear or Corrupt?

Forgiveness: Are you forgiven AND forgiving?

Jesus was hurled insults as He hung on the cross but instead of rebuking those who wanted Him dead, He said "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." (Luke 23:34)

WOW! What an incredible expression of love and mercy from the LORD and what a perfect example for all of us to follow! Because of Christ's finished work on the cross, all who believe in Him are not only forgiven their sins but they are made right with God and experience and express true forgiveness!

Are you forgiven by God? Are you forgiving of others? Rob and I talk about forgiveness this week.

Burning Hearts or Itching Ears: State of Christian Church Messages

As Apostle Paul is saying farewell to the leaders at the Ephesian church, he says this in Acts 20:26-28:

"Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God. Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood."

Are pastors today faithfully teaching the WHOLE Bible and shepherding their church, as God intended? Can pastors make a similar declaration that they are innocent of the blood of those under their teaching?

Don’t judge a book by its cover.
Are you a devout God-fearing Christian?
Is your faith “visible”?
Are you a prayerful Christian?
Is the Holy Spirit the Boss of you?
Do you respond when God calls you? Do you do what God asks you to do?
Cornelius knew God but he needed Jesus!
- Exodus 20:3 (First Commandment)
- Deuteronomy 6:4
- Isaiah 44:6
- Isaiah 44:6
- John 14:6
We are on our Christian journey together.
Jesus asks: Who do you say I AM?

Do you believe that Jesus is God? Where are you going WHEN you die?

Say YES to Jesus TODAY. RIGHT NOW.
“..if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

Are you a disciple of Jesus Christ?Is this truth visible in your life?

Say YES to Jesus EVERY MOMENT.
“Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” Matthew 16:24

Message on Acts 9:23-43

Summary of Acts 9:1-22

Saul was on his way to persecute the disciples of Jesus when he had a supernatural encounter with Jesus! Saul is blinded for three days, which he spends in prayer, until Ananias, sent by God, prays for his sight to be restored and for the Holy Spirit to come upon him. Saul gets baptised immediately and begins to preach that Jesus is the Son of God!

Live by faith (in Jesus) or live in fear (of people).

Challenge: Are you living by faith or living in fear?

Be ready and willing to share the Gospel, anytime, anywhere, with anyone.

Challenge: Are you like Barnabas or are you like the unnamed disciples who feared Saul? Are you ready to share your testimony at any time, willing to share the Gospel?

Believe in the power of God and believe that He can use you to bless others!

Challenge: Are you available to God and exercising your gifts for His glory?

Message on Acts 9:1-22

Summary of Acts 8

Stephen is stoned to death with Saul’s approval. Persecution has broken out against those following the Way (of Jesus). God uses Philip to share the Good News with those in Samaria and with a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians. Amidst persecution and hardship, God’s will can’t be thwarted.

We are either led by our flesh OR led by God’s Holy Spirit.

Challenge: Are you like “Saul”? Do you deal with a “Saul” as Christ would want you to?
Comfort: Even if there is a “Saul” wanting to bring us down, the LORD is on our side!

What we do with an encounter with God is our choice.

Challenge: Have you asked the most important question ever: Who are You, Lord?
Comfort: God will not turn away anyone who submits to Him, no matter who they are!

When we humble ourselves and obey God, God’s will is done, people are transformed and we are blessed!

Challenge: When God calls you, do you respond? Do you obey?
Comfort: God loves us, even when we chicken out!

Don’t downplay who Jesus is and what He’s called us to do.

Who God saves, God uses!

Challenge: What’s stopping you from stepping up to serve God?
Comfort: God can use anyone, even us!

Summary of Acts 7

The Holy Spirit speaks through Stephen, recounting Israel’s history and God’s hand upon them and accuses them of being “stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears” and always resisting the Holy Spirit, at which point, Stephen is stoned to death as Saul watches and consents, approves of this murder.

God allowed persecution achieves God ordained purpose (v1-8)

Challenge: Is your faith in Jesus strong enough to face hardships and persecution?

Transforming faith that saves the soul is evident in a transformed life (v9-25)

Challenge: Are you allowing the Holy Spirit to change you from the insider, to be like Jesus OR like Simon, are you poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity?

Go where God leads you to go, not where you want to go or think you should be

Challenge: Are you obedient to God/the Holy Spirit or yourself?

Challenge: Do you spend enough time reading and studying God’s Word that you can share with others at a moment’s notice?

God can make us bold

Challenge: Are you emboldened in/by the Spirit or fearful and doubting in your flesh?

God can help us be like Jesus

Challenge: In Philippians 1:21, Paul says “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Are you willing to “die” – not necessarily a physical death but putting your flesh to death?

Are you a peacemaker or the peace taker?

Do what God has called you to do (V2-7)

Are you willing to “wait tables” or only after the “glamorous positions”?

Are you a Stephen? (V8-15)

Are you filled with the Spirit or led by your flesh (like those who falsely accused Stephen)?

God can use anyone to come to our defence (V33-42)

Despite how Christians are under attack for following Jesus, do you believe that God has raised up people, like Gamaliel, in the right places (government, work places etc)?

Ananias and Sapphira (V1-16)

Are you putting on a show, appearing to be a Christian?
What are you holding back on, but making it seem like you are giving your all to the LORD?
What work or prompting of the Holy Spirit are you ignoring, while appearing to be a follower of Jesus to everybody else?

Prison to Preaching (V17-21)

Are you being unfaithful on the inside, putting God to the test?
Are you willing to be treated the same way the apostles were?
Do you believe that the LORD can do a miracle in your life and release you from the prison you are in?
Will you continue to obey the LORD, no matter what happens in your life, when things don’t go your way even if you are following Jesus?

Are you in fellowship with other Christians, praising God and praying together for God’s will to be done?
Are you relying on the Holy Spirit to be in a relationship with God, which is then evident in the relationship you have with fellow Christians?
