But did you know meat production and pastoralism is one of the big polluters when it comes greenhouse gas emissions? Thanks in some part from livestock burps (not farts).

To solve this puzzle, there are many solutions to produce the meat and protein an hungry world needs without the excess amount of methane that more livestock can produce. This includes plant based proteins, regenerative agriculture, agroforestry and lab grown meat.

Chris D’Costa is the founder of Totem Accounting, creator and driving force behind the implementation of the peer-to-peer Live Accounting Protocol. Chris spent over 20 years designing and building enterprise accounting, business intelligence and ERP systems. In 2013, Chris and a few Bitcoin early adopters started the Belgian Bitcoin Association as an educational and policy advisory body around legal status and other issues concerning blockchain and cryptocurrencies to governmental organisations, private individuals and corporations. In 2014, Chris combined his enterprise architect background and technical blockchain expertise to research the concept of global corporate currencies with his clients which disclosed a universal disconnect in the exchange of accounting information. The result of the research is the Live Accounting Protocol used in Totem’s blockchain application, Totem Live. The Totem Live Accounting Network - a decentralized real-time peer-to-peer accounting network - is still in alpha development but has been live since April 2019. The team is anticipating a full product public mainnet launch in late 2021.

Let's take another voyage into the future, on the good ship SS Tomorrow. In 2046, the singularity has happen yet we see humans and cobots (collaborative robots) working side by side. Cobots are performing laborious tasks and humans are adding in finesse. It seems we are still a long way of understanding how to teach context and nuance, if AI is to get creative. Perhaps somethings are left to humanity.

Shane Neeley holds degrees in molecular, cellular and developmental biology and bioengineering. He traded in his lab coat for a laptop and has spent the last decade writing code for biomedical software companies.   What is Greenwashing?

Greenwashing is where a company, organisation, or even an individual goes out of their way to make themselves look as though they are taking a responsible attitude to the environment, even though they are not. In particular, In order to portray an image of environmental responsibility despite evidence to the contrary.

In other words, it is a form of ‘spin’ where those who are responsible for pollution and other environmental damage try to make themselves appear as responsible environmental stewards.

Greenwashing is a form of false advertising and should not be tolerated under any circumstance.

But unfortunately, it is a tactic that is utilised by many companies and individuals.

In this episode, I hope to show examples of Greenwashing and how it has been done.

Continuing our month of sustainability and preventing climate change did you know?

 As the world has proven to be a tougher place to live in lately, one of the new hot button issues for environmentalists is the impact of livestock on the environment.

It seems that every day another report or new study is released that sheds light on new ways that raising livestock is negatively affecting the environment.

I know I used to not think twice about buying commercially prepared sandwiches of cold cuts at the grocery store for my lunch, but I sure do now.

The main take away points:

• The future of meat production is to grow meat without killing any animals

• If we can create alternatives to killing animals for food, we can create clean, sustainable, healthy food for the planet.

Recycling is not the solution to waste, reusing items that would otherwise end up in landfill is the solution to waste, this is known as upcycling.

Finally, a use for Grandma's old Englebert Humperdink records that maybe a bit kitsch for modern music tastes.

You’re out and about and find the perfect vintage dress, jacket or other item and snap it up.

It’s just what you wanted and for a bargain price.

However, if you’re anything like some of our staff here on the good ship SS Tomorrow. You’ll wear it for a few hours, days or weeks but as soon as you’ve lost interest in it, it will be consigned to the back of the wardrobe, to sit there for years and years, never to see the light of day again.

So what happens to those clothes that we don’t want?

You may send them to the op shop, however if they get rejected, they end up in a landfill site. Which leads to potentially more greenhouse gases getting pumped into the atmosphere.

It is a very good question to ask and one that every business needs to be aware of.

How secure is working remotely?

You can be sure that cybercriminals are already thinking about these very questions as well. A new study released from the team at Tenable has found:

Nearly 59% of Australian businesses will make remote working permanent in the next 1-2 years, according to a study from Forrester Consulting, commissioned by Tenable.

As employees navigate sustained periods of remote working, the study also revealed that remote workers are the target of almost three-quarters of cyberattacks.

The majority of remote workers are connecting six or more devices to the home network, expanding the attack surface and, if left unsecured, putting them at greater risk of being the victim of a cyberattack.

Today, Tenable released the results from the study, finding:

• Nine in 10 remote workers are connecting six or more devices to their home networks
• 43% of remote workers access financial records and 51% access customer data from a personal device
• Yet, just 29% of Australian remote workers strictly follow their organisations’ security guidelines and measures
• 92% of Australian businesses experienced a business-impacting cyberattack in the last year

So let's break it down to the level of the average bloke on the street: 1. Metaverse = virtual reality space

2. There is a VR world out there where you can experience anything anytime. It's like going to a movie theater, but instead of watching a film in your own home, you can walk around, interact with the environment, and experience what the characters are feeling, thinking, and doing in the movie. It's very exciting!

You may be right now familiar with the metaverse. The metaverse is a future world in which you can be anything you want, do anything you want, and be with anyone you want. The first version of this world is virtual reality and the second version is augmented reality. Nonetheless, there is another realm within the metaverse you may not have thought about: tactile tech or touching digital objects.

So what is haptics?

- Haptics is touch feedback through the use of vibrational or tactile cues, which are used to convey information about the device and its interaction with the user.

We never in our wildest dreams, ever came across someone who has lived in this scenario. However, today's guest, Ivan, has done exactly that. Because he is a YouTuber and comedian from Kyiv. Here in developed economies in, the global North, the adoption of EVs (electric vehicles) has been going on for the past decade or so. Even though some countries are adopting their fleet faster than others. In the developing world, it is a totally different story.

Let's talk about hydrogen, so pristine,

In green, blue, and brown, a colourful scene!

Green Hydrogen, the cleanest of all,

Made with renewable energy's call.

Sun and wind power they play their part.

To split water molecules and start.

Blue Hydrogen, it's not quite green,

But it's cleaner than brown, as you've seen.

With carbon capture, it strives to be

A lower-emission energy source, you see.

Brown Hydrogen, well, it's not so grand,

Made from fossil fuels, across the land.

Pollution and emissions, they're the trouble,

We should aim for cleaner, and there's no rebuttal.

So remember the colours of hydrogen, true?
