Everywhere you turn, it seems someone is claiming that the world is coming to an end. On X, they were talking about Blackrock has limited withdrawals while Blackstone & Blue Owl also have issues. Ohio Senate President Rob McCauley didn't think it was possible to make up a $24 billion hole if property taxes get abolished while another Representative seemed surprised that local governments may have to examine their excessive spending if there are no property taxes.  

We do not see the sky falling. We see states other than Ohio coming up with solutions for funding that are not as problematic as property taxes. We see that governments and schools need to cut spending. We understand that a company's contract will dictate what will happen with funds and when those events may happen.

Ohio is not the only state looking to abolish property taxes or at least have a large reform. Florida and Texas are looking at getting rid of property taxes for homeowners, but that will still leave a burden on renters. Kansas lawmakers are talking about abolishing all local property taxes. There are grassroot groups in a couple other states who are looking to make a difference with property taxes. We go over what Governor Dewine claims will happen without property tax revenue and how math shows getting rid of property taxes is still better. We also talk about tariffs and the problems with those as well as Ray Dalio's quote about wealth not being useful unless you convert it into cash. Society is currently heading toward decentralization and smaller government, but it will take us working together make this world a better place!

Trump said he wants to ban "large" investors from purchasing single family homes. The idea is that because these investors are buying homes, the price is going too high. This ignores the fact of the large increases in things like property taxes, insurance, labor, and building supplies. This also is not looking at how small the percentage is of single-family homes that institutions are purchasing. They didn't even talk about what is a "large" investor. In Ohio, they had labeled this as any investor that owns 50 or more (which by statistics is still pretty small). We talk about the numbers, the background, how investors saved the housing market after the Great Financial Crisis, and the questions that the politicians aren't asking themselves. If this is passed, expect a loss of privacy without any real relief for home prices. Learn what you need to know by joining us in this episode!

We talk about holiday spending in the U.S. and Canada, which can add to the monthly deficit and overall debt for the consumer. Governments are continuously increases their debt and running deficits every year. While some may say that deficits don't matter or "in the long run, we'll all be dead," but the truth is that the only way to increase the monetary supply without inflation is to create enough value to account for the increase. That is not what is going on in the world today. The government deficit is added to GDP, but the government isn't actually producing anything, so the calculation for GDP is seriously flawed. The greatest trick the Fed ever did was to convince the world that 2% inflation was good. It just makes it take more currency to get the goods and services you need and steals your purchasing power. We talk about how you can plan ahead to make your world a better place!

There is Good Debt and Bad Debt, and we go over the difference. We talk about the ingenuity of the humans that have brought us great technologies, which is more prevalent where there are private property rights. We talk about the possibility of a 50 year mortgage. While most people today are buying based on the payment and not the purchase price, they are missing the big picture about how a longer mortgage is actually worse for their financial position. We discuss an easy example of a $100,000 home purchase and what it is like with a 15 year mortgage at regular interest rates vs a 30 year and 50 year with the reduced rates and lower down payment. Lengthening the term may be great for the banks, as they make more in interest, but it prevents the homeowner from building any real equity. It is also helping to push purchase prices higher, as the longer rates mean a lower payment, even if most of it is paying interest. We talk about how families used to be able to buy a home, build equity, and prepare for retirement. The longer your loan term, the less likely you are to be in a good position later. Use this information to make better decisions so you and your family can have a better future!

There is a big difference between money and currency. While people were fascinated by alchemy, you cannot turn lead into gold. That is one of the reasons that gold is money. Since you can't just make more of it, it cannot be inflated like currency. We go over the market caps of different investments and how they relate to each other. We also talk about IPO's, risk, and price expectations. Since the dollar can be inflated, it may be better to measure the cost of things in something that the government cannot just make more of, like gold. In the end, it isn't the price of something, it's about the value.

We talk about the difference between a tax deed state and a tax lien state. Tax lien states have certain percentages written into their laws, and we give some examples. We talk about the lottery, which is a small part of funding schools here and is at least voluntary, even if the odds make it unlikely for an individual to benefit. We talk about how investing in gold, silver, or Bitcoin would have gotten you a better return this year. The state of Ohio had submitted a letter telling a county that they had to raise property taxes by 42%. People have reached the end of what they can pay, so tax delinquency rates are up. Governments really need to study the Laffer Curve.

The price of a McDonald's Big Mac meal was 35 cents in 1964 with the dime and quarter that still had silver in it. Today, the same amount of silver will buy you the same meal, even though it's more than $10. We talk about how you can use silver in your portfolio.  

Property taxes increases are still a hot-button topic here in Ohio, where more and more people are getting involved and signing the petition to get an amendment on the ballot to end property taxes statewide. A recent poll shows that 61% of voters would vote for this. If it passes here in Ohio, there are other states that will be looking at getting rid of property taxes also.

We also talk about a new proposed law in the city of Columbus regarding rental registration and inspections. While this same kind of law has been found unconstitutional in other cities, they are trying to pass it there. We talk about the unconstitutional laws that governments are trying to force on citizens.  

Whether it is fighting against taxing unrealized gains or against unconstitutional laws, the only way to prevent these things from hurting citizens is to stand up against it. More and more people are starting to do this. That is how we can make this world a better place.

The Fed has lowered rates a quarter of a percent. Inflation is over 3% from the government's own measurements. Home prices are up, and property taxes are making it impossible for some people to keep their home. We have been working to get signatures to get a constitutional amendment on the Ohio ballot to get rid of property taxes completely. This could keep people in their homes and lower rents.  

"But how will we fund schools?" they say. We talk about some possible options for funding. We also review the terrible results the traditional school system has been getting. We talk about how some money is being wasted by school systems. How much does a teacher here really make per hour? What do administrators make? Is it worth people losing their homes so that schools can continue to get terrible results? Or is it time for zero property taxes and a new system to fund schools based on results?

Grace Schara was a 19-year-old woman with Down Syndrome. Her life was one of love, laughter, and great experiences. Scott took her to the emergency room when she had COVID and her oxygen saturation had lowered into the 80% range. He was expecting the hospital to give her oxygen and maybe steroids. Instead they admitted her and then progressively began to take steps without his knowledge or consent that led to them overdosing her not once, not twice, but 3 times. On the second overdose, they had to resuscitate her. By the 3rd time, they had labeled her (WITHOUT HER FAMILY’S KNOWLEDGE OR PERMISSION) as "DNR" (do not resuscitate), so she was not revived. Losing a child is a terrible thing, but it is worse when you find out that it was not only preventable but that her death may have been intentionally caused. Scott has spent the last few years not only researching what happened to her but also fighting the hospital in court. While he lost the court case, he has not lost heart. He is on a mission to educate people on what CAN happen to them in the hospital - without their knowledge or consent. Listen to this episode to find out how you can protect yourself and your loved ones!

Why are government provided services never as good as private ones? We talk about SGLI and the VA. Argentina went through its period of socialism with Peron and now the people voted in Javier Milei. If you look at North and South Korea from space, why are there so many more lights in capitalist South Korea? The Millennials claim they want socialism, so why are they making capitalist decisions? We also talk about the experiment with socialism in Jamestown and how that worked out for the early settlers of what is now the U.S. Of course the government wants socialism and has the media influencing people in this direction...they want their power and control. If you want freedom, you need to take responsibility for your own life and decisions. We talk about all this and more!
