 Kimberly Brown-Phillips is a global worship and prophetic arts influencer and educational strategist. As a trained dancer, former worship leader, and executive administrative professional, she uses her background to fuel her missional and apostolic approach to ministry. She is a certified Dance Instructor, certified Life Coach & published author. Kimberly was called into leadership as a young adult and for over 20 years, she has been serving in local churches. In 2000, she founded Christ Center for Dance, a worship & prophetic arts educational organization with students and graduates all around the world. Her ministry is marked by passionate intercessory prayer, prophetic teaching, and an apostolic intensity. With over 30 years of dedicated service to fostering community engagement, Susan Slawson is a visionary leader in parks and recreation. A graduate of Geneva College with a degree in Business Management, Susan combines her business acumen with a deep passion for sustainability and community development. Her instinctive understanding of community dynamics has earned her widespread reverence, trust, and respect throughout the Greater Philadelphia region.

Susan was sworn in under Mayor Cherelle L. Parker in 2024 and is deeply aligned with the mayor’s vision of making Philadelphia “a Safer, Cleaner, and Greener City, with Access to Economic Opportunity for All.” Her work exemplifies this mission by creating inclusive, vibrant, and sustainable park spaces that enhance public life and promote a higher quality of living. She firmly believes that accessible, diverse recreational programs can transform neighborhoods, making them more desirable places to live, work, and play.

As the commissioner of Parks & Recreation for eight years prior to the merger of Fairmount Park and the Department of Recreation, Susan oversaw strategic planning and programming for over 150 recreation centers and playgrounds across every neighborhood in Philadelphia. Her tenure was marked by innovation and resilience, particularly during the economic downturn of 2008. Under her leadership, the department secured significant federal grant funding to reduce the digital divide, introducing 25 KEYSPOT computer labs with internet access across the recreation system. She also successfully raised over $4 million to keep outdoor pools operational during this challenging period, ensuring critical community resources remained available.

Currently, Susan continues to collaborate closely with City Council members to plan capital projects and budgets. Her expertise in building partnerships with community organizations, neighborhood groups, and city departments highlights her commitment to operational excellence and collaborative leadership.

Guided by an unwavering vision for progress, Susan’s work leaves an indelible mark on the community, inspiring a brighter, more inclusive future for all, fully embracing the promise of a safer, cleaner, and greener Philadelphia.

Syeeda has been heading up the Together Through Trauma program since its inception. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who enjoys working with individuals, couples and families from diverse, cultural and ethnic backgrounds by empowering them to make the positive changes necessary to bring about transformation in their lives. As a Clinical Supervisor, Syeeda supports the development of trainees by providing constructive feedback to their therapeutic work. Her certification in Prolonged Exposure enables her to treat adult clients suffering from PTSD symptoms. She is also certified in TF-CBT, a model that helps children and their families heal from traumatic events.

Hello! I'm David Rosen, Founder of Progress Rose, Beyond Boundaries Success Coaching. It's my honor to share my journey and passion for empowering individuals and teams to transcend their perceived limitations. In this era of profound change, I am witnessing an emerging force of compassionate marketplace leaders dedicated to making our world a better place. It is a sacred privilege for me to be part of this movement, guiding leaders to navigate with purpose and significance.

With over 30 years of experience in healthcare and leadership roles spanning non-profit organizations, home health care, and substance abuse programs, my tenure as the co-owner with my wife Terri and CEO of four Griswold Home Care franchise offices stands as a significant milestone. To this day, all our offices continue to thrive under our excellent leadership team's guidance, delivering over 150,000 hours of care annually and enabling seniors to age in place with dignity and honor.

What Has Shaped My Heart

My heart has been profoundly shaped by years of engaging in heartfelt encounters and life-giving, meaningful connections with individuals from diverse cultures and indigenous communities across the globe. As a registered nurse, I have also been privileged to care for people from all walks of life, especially those in need. These experiences have instilled in me a deep sense of empathy and understanding, for which I am truly grateful. They've rooted me in principles of servant leadership and good stewardship, guiding my coaching style to prioritize empathy and teamwork, aiming to foster positive change in the world around me.

Jéneen Barlow is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Barlow Enterprises (BE) and of Freedom Brokers International (FBI). She is a national speaker, consultant, life strategist, and the author of Don’t BE Scared. BEspeak!: How to Prepare, Present and Inspire your Audience to Take Action. She is also the co-author of the #1 Amazon Best Seller, Don’t Be Scared. Live on Purpose! with the forward written by Dr. Willie Jolley.

Barlow Enterprises (BE), a consulting and motivational speaking company, provides the business and education sectors, students, families and individuals with the processes they need to “Work. Love. Omar Barlow believes that every person has a purpose to fulfill. As a gifted teacher, motivator, and leader Omar seeks to assist as many people as possible to discover purpose and maximize their full potential. He often quotes, “The richest place in the world is the cemetery.” He believes the issue this quote pinpoints is that many die without ever discovering who they really are. Consequently, they take all that they are to contribute to the world — to the graveyard. In light of this truth, Omar is committed to “dying empty.”

Scott Smith is a Philadelphia-based spoken word artist, emcee, host, and speaker. Scott began writing and performing spoken word poetry after seeing Amena Brown Owen perform at the Jubilee Conference in 2010. Over his early journey with poetry, Scott gained inspiration from movements like Def Jam Poetry & P4CM while performing at various spoken word open mic events and churches in the Pittsburgh and Youngstown areas. Since moving to Philadelphia in 2012, Scott has had opportunities to perform locally, regionally and nationally on notable platforms including Voices in Power, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, WeGoLive, Busboys and Poets, and WAN Poetry. 

 Beyond the national spoken word scene, Scott has leveraged his gifts to serve the body of Christ specifically through performing at Christian churches, retreats, conferences, and festivals. On most months you can find Scott supporting other local poets at an open mic in Philly. He loves watching artists come into their own and grow in their gifts. In 2019, Scott and his wife Darlene founded Ripe Creatives under A.C.T. Intl.

Yvette A. Núñez serves as Board Member of the Philadelphia, Gospel Movement, and also as the Chief of Staff for Mastery Schools. Núñez joined the organization as the Chief of External Affairs in January 2023 under founder Scott Gordon. As Chief of Staff, Núñez oversees a diverse portfolio, including advocacy, communications, development, and external partnerships, and serves as a strategic advisor to the CEO and the Executive Team.

Across her 25-year professional career, Núñez has led external strategies for various local and national nonprofit organizations, including UnidosUS and the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia. She has been recognized for her work by city and state leaders and the Hispanic Bar Association. Núñez currently serves as a board member for CEIBA and PIDC’s Community Capital Advisory Board. She holds a master’s of public administration from the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Institute of Government and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Temple University.

Pastor Paul Anderson, a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, Paul spent just over a decade doing ministry in the land of Longhorns & Cowboys before moving to the Philly area in 2010 to take on the role of our lead pastor. Paul is an incurable coffee drinker and avid reader. His wife Jenny, and kids, Jillian & Caleb, are a great source of joy (& sermon illustrations).

New Story Church:

We are a non-denominational, local church

In 2021, there were two local churches reeling from the pandemic and trying to make sense of a very different reality.

GVF (Grace Valley Fellowship) was a growing congregation, with strong leadership, but they were meeting in a field.

CBC (Calvary Bible Church) was without a pastor but had this beautiful corner property that they prayed about filling to the brim.

God was beginning a work…

In March 2022, CBC and GVF voted to merge their congregations and move into CBC’s building. The two congregations began meeting together on March 27, 2022. 

In order to reflect the new work God was doing in our midst; and to step into this new season of unity, we decided to change our name.

On January 6, 2023, we became New Story Church. It is fresh, and it is going to take a while to get used to, and a while to roll out in its entirety, but we are excited about this new work and look forward to living into this new name and new story.

Leah and her husband Brad Leach moved to Philadelphia in September 2010 with a dream to start a church where real people from all different backgrounds could experience the life-changing love of God. In September 2011 that dream became a reality as City Life Philly held its very first service at The Academy at Palumbo in South Philly. That first service was alive, fun, warm, and welcoming–an atmosphere we’ve done our best to recreate every weekend since. 

For seven years we were a "portable church," meeting in three rented facilities throughout South Philly. During these formative years, God built a unique DNA into the life of our church. We learned what's possible through a committed Dream Team of volunteers, as faithful teams served week after week to set up and tear down our worship environments in temporary venues. Most importantly, God showed us that a church is not a building—it's a vibrant community of God's people, on mission together to serve the city.

In the fall of 2018 God provided a miracle for our young church. The members of Calvary Temple, a historic church in South Philadelphia, voted to give their building to City Life and be adopted into our church family. Because of their generous decision, we now gather every week in our first permanent location, and look forward to using this gift as a launching pad to serve Philly in practical and creative ways.

Today we’re more committed than ever to the goal of seeing lives changed by God. Our belief is simple: We grow spiritually when we love God, love people, and prove it. To accomplish that process, City Life offers contemporary, biblically-driven worship services that are alive with energy and inspiration, as well as excellent children’s ministry, dynamic Life Groups, and numerous serving opportunities on the City Life Dream Team.

Vito Baldini is a native Philadelphian who has served the city for more than a decade. An ordained minister in the Reformed Church of America, he has a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies from Cairn University and a Masters of Divinity from Biblical Theological Seminary. 

As Pastor of Mercy for the (former) Liberti Center City Church (now Resurrection) and Liberti Mainline, he became experienced with urban ministry in Philadelphia. He oversees Emmanuel Ministry, which provides a hot meal to those experiencing homelessness, as well as other social and medical services. He also partnered with more than 90 churches as director of the Easter Outreach ministry, which annually provided 10,000 Easter meals throughout the region. 

More than a year ago, Vito left the church to become a missionary to the city. As such, he serves as the Director of Mercy and Justice for the Liberti Network and also as Executive Director of Small Things Inc. Small Things is a non-profit food distributor that partners with Philabundance to give away about 8.3 million pounds of food to 100 community pantries in 2021. 

In 2019, Vito received an award from Social Innovations Journal for healthy food access for people experiencing homelessness in Center City Philadlphia. In 2020, the Philadelphia Council of Clergy gave Vito the Martin Luther King Jr. Servant Leader Award. In 2021, he and Small Things were honored by Philabundance with the Hunger Hero award. And in September 2021, at the Hispanic Heritage Ceremony sponsored by Concilio, Vito and Small Things were named Volunteer of the Year.

THE PROBLEM

Since the first century, the Church has not only been beautifully diverse but also tragically divided. Too often, we view fellow Christian leaders and congregations as competitors instead of family. We tend to separate rather than unite.

THE PURPOSE

The Church exists to reveal God's manifold wisdom to the powers in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 3:10). Its role is to showcase the rich diversity of God’s counsel and the many expressions of His power interconnected in a robust reconciled community.

THE PRAXIS

At Netzer, we pursue functional unity in the Body of Christ. As trust grows among leaders, churches, and ministries, so does our capacity for gospel mobilization and regional impact. CALVARY CHAPEL WORD OF LIFE

Calvary Chapel Word of Life was born out of a Bible Study in the YMCA in North Philadelphia lead by Pastor Mark Abrams. This study was simply a group of believers coming together who had a hunger for the truth. The desire and emphasis of this ministry was to teach through the entire bible verse by verse, as Paul told those in Ephesus, "For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God". This small bible study continued to grow as the Word of God was being taught and became a church plant. Seeking to reach the community with the gospel the Lord afforded this fellowship the privilege to do countless outreaches serving single moms, fatherless children and the homeless.

Calvary Chapel Word of Life considers itself a daughter church of Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia lead by Senior Pastor Joe Focht. A ministry that God has been growing for 33 years. We are also an affiliate of the international family of churches started by Pastor Chuck Smith known as the Calvary Chapel Movement.

The simplicity of our story demonstrates the essence of what Calvary Chapel is about – no show, no gimmicks, no frills – just believers in Jesus Christ who gather to learn His Word, worship Him in song, seek Him in prayer and love one another. "And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers."

Scott Smith is a Philadelphia-based spoken word artist, emcee, host, and speaker. Scott began writing and performing spoken word poetry after seeing Amena Brown Owen perform at the Jubilee Conference in 2010. Over his early journey with poetry, Scott gained inspiration from movements like Def Jam Poetry & P4CM while performing at various spoken word open mic events and churches in the Pittsburgh and Youngstown areas. Since moving to Philadelphia in 2012, Scott has had opportunities to perform locally, regionally and nationally on notable platforms including Voices in Power, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, WeGoLive, Busboys and Poets, and WAN Poetry. 

 Beyond the national spoken word scene, Scott has leveraged his gifts to serve the body of Christ specifically through performing at Christian churches, retreats, conferences, and festivals. On most months you can find Scott supporting other local poets at an open mic in Philly. He loves watching artists come into their own and grow in their gifts. In 2019, Scott and his wife Darlene founded Ripe Creatives under A.C.T. Intl.

Bill and Sharon Stevens represent the ministry of FamilyLife in PA, NJ, DE, ME, and NH by connecting with churches, businesses, military, local volunteer teams and couples for building godly marriages and families. They help equip others through the ministry of FamilyLife, such as by attending a Weekend to Remember, helping churches develop sustainable marriage ministry, helping business invest in their employees and spouses and mentoring couples to understand God's plans for putting Christ at the center of their lives and marriages. Bonnie was raised in a Christian family and came to faith in Jesus as a young child. Since that time, she has faithfully pursued her passion to know God intimately. Bonnie first experienced Alpha while living in London with her family, where they were members of Holy Trinity Brompton Church, the birthplace of Alpha. Upon returning from London, she launched her first Alpha course in her home, and hasn’t looked back since! She served as an active board member of Alpha Mid Atlantic for close to a decade before taking on the role of Executive Director.

Bonnie was a banker in both New York and Boston before deciding to leave the workforce to raise her three children full time. During those years she was a vital volunteer leader, fundraiser, and board member at several nonprofit organizations. Bonnie has authored two books—My Identity Is In Christ and Chronic Hope. More of her writing can be found at www.bonnieoneil.com. She is also a spiritual director, an experienced Bible teacher and an engaging speaker at church and leadership retreats.

Ministry Director | Willow Grove | Serving Leaders Ministries

Tucker joined the ServingLeaders team in 2021 with a diverse background in pastoral care and ministry leadership, after spending the previous five years as the Ministry Director for Christian Union at the University of Pennsylvania. Serving as a Chaplain at Penn provided an opportunity to disciple, train, and connect young Christian leaders for a lifetime of ministry. During this time, Tucker also served as a College Pastor and Teacher at City Line Church in Bala Cynwyd.

Prior to coming to the Philadelphia area, Tucker served as the Pastor at Denver Baptist Church (Iowa) for seven years. Tucker’s heart for the Church and for church leaders was enhanced through the relationships nurtured during this season of ministry. His passion remains to serve Christian leaders both in the local church and parachurch ministries.

Tucker’s role as Ministry Director of the Willow Grove Hub is an important step in the plans to continue expanding the capacity and geographic reach of ServingLeaders through new “Mission Hubs.” Seeing the need for relational proximity, Serving Leaders Ministries wants to plant Hubs in new geographic regions with Ministry Directors who will each be a leader of leaders, on the ground connecting, equipping, and encouraging pastors and ministry leaders; a shepherd of shepherds, who will pursue and befriend leaders while developing and leading a team of ministry and counseling staff that can walk alongside leaders and shepherd their hearts.

Tucker earned a BA in English literature from the University of Northern Iowa, a Juris Doctorate from Drake University Law School, and an MDiv at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri.

Tucker and his wife of a quarter century, Marchelle, are Iowa natives but happily count Philadelphia as home. The Else’s (with their four kids) reside in Ardmore with their oldest two attending university in West Philadelphia. Tucker enjoys reading, watching college football, drinking coffee with his oldest daughter, going on adventures with his boys, and surfing with his youngest daughter. Tucker is also working on his first novel.

Pastor Mark was born in East Chicago, Indiana in 1972. He and the love of his life, Wanda, married in 1996 and are the proud parents of two amazing sons, Mark and Joseph. Pastor Mark retired as a Major in the US Army after twenty-six years of service in 2016. He is a graduate of Excelsior College and received his Master’s in Divinity from Missio Seminary. Wanda has served as a teacher and school administrator for over 20 years. In 2008, Wanda founded a renowned charter school in Philadelphia where she served as CEO and school principal. She received a Bachelor's in Early Childhood and Elementary Education degree from Temple University, Master's degree in Education Leadership from Cheyney University and Superintendent's Letter from Arcadia University. Pastor Mark and Wanda are convinced that God will use their gifts, passions, life experiences and pain to reach the city of Philadelphia with the message of hope and healing. After realizing many goals, Pastor Mark believed that God had something “greater” in store for him and his family. He always felt that God was calling him to be a pastor, but was unsure on how to proceed. After losing his best friend in a tragic accident in 2009, he began to hear the call of God once again. He answered that call to plant a new church during his last year of seminary. After much prayer, the Lord sent a mentor (Brian Bolt) to help him in the church planting process. In February 2013, Pastor Mark and his family began hosting a Bible study for a small group of people in their home. That group continued to grow and on September 15, 2013 CityReach Church was officially launched at Northeast High school. Two years after the launch, the church took a huge leap of faith as they purchased a historic theater in the Tacony section of Philadelphia. Over the last 9 years, the CityReach family has had the honor of seeing countless people’s lives transformed through God’s grace, love, and power. Pastor Mark believes that CityReach church was born to empower people to discover their purpose and live out their God given destiny He believes that this church will multiply and influence our city and region. Ernest Daniels Jr. serves as the Lead Pastor at Christ Community Church of Philadelphia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Christian counseling and a master’s degree in Christian Leadership from Christian Leadership Seminary. As a decorated military veteran, pastor, and recording artist, Ernest uses his gift of influence to elevate Christ before the generations.

 A relatable and engaging communicator, Ernest’s teaching style is practical, clear and driven by his desire to see transformation in the lives of people. Through pastoring, music, and teaching, Ernest endeavors to encourage others to know that we are not waiting on a move of God, but that we are the move of God. As a leader his heart is to empower others to bring Kingdom to their spheres of influence.

 Ernest and his lovely wife Sharon reside in Delaware County, Pennsylvania and have three children, Davier, Amanda, and Kaitlyn.

Rev. Bob Oliver has been married to his dear wife Denise for 34 years. They are blessed with one daughter: Sherrell Oliver-Riley, one son in law: Reginald Riley, two sons: Deion Oliver and David Oliver, and two grandchildren: Jacob Christian Riley and Olivia Grace Riley.

 Rev. Oliver has been a member of New Covenant Church of Philadelphia since 1996 and has served in several ministry capacities. He is a gifted preacher and teacher of the Word, has taught in Bible studies, Christian Education classes, Sunday morning services, and has been a member of the men’s ministry. Rev. Oliver formerly served as an Associate Pastor, member of the Board of Elders, head of Adult Christian Education Ministries, and head of New Covenant Ministries, working with church leadership to coordinate ministry within the church and community. On June 2, 2018, “Pastor Oliver” as he is affectionately called by the members, assumed the position of Executive Pastor. Prior to moving to Philadelphia, he served in the Hope Deliverance Church (Paterson, New Jersey) as a Sunday School teacher, usher and minister of the gospel, preaching in various churches around the city of Paterson.

Pastor Oliver earned an MBA from Saint Joseph’s University and a BA from Rutgers University. He is currently a Master of Divinity candidate at Palmer Theological Seminary. He was recently appointed to the Church of God International Ministries Counsel, which is the governing body of the international Church of God.

In addition to his ministry experience, he has accomplished much in his professional career. He has served on nonprofit and for-profit boards and provided executive leadership and wise guidance to several organizations and corporations.

Today he shares with us his life story, and open his heart to inspire our listeners to show who God is and what He looks like everywhere and anywhere possible, in ways that would make people want the Jesus in us at the work place, at the supermarket, at the mall, everywhere we go.
